Hi, everyone! My name is John Zelenin.
Together with Sergey Tchoban, a Russian / German architect, I made a series of prints "Imprint of the Future" / "Imprint of the future", which was first seen at the St. Petersburg-2103 exhibition in St. Petersburg, dedicated to the present, past and future of the city on the Neva (curator - Maria Elkina).

➡️The prints of Piranesi's engravings from the personal collection of Sergey Choban are used as original architectural landscapes.
👤Architect Sergey Choban was invited as a participant in the “Visions” section dedicated to the future of St. Petersburg. His project Future Print is reflections on the invasion of the new architecture into the historic city and on the coexistence of the old and the new, embodied in three engravings made by Sergei Tchoban’s drawings by the 4th year student of the St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. E. Repin John Zelenin.
👍The video tells about the process of implementing this project, about all the technical difficulties of etching in 4 minutes.
The exhibition # spb2103 # spb2103 was held in the summer of 2018
And a little about the philosophy of our project!

Petersburg was created as a city designed to embody the most modern trends of European architecture and throughout its history has followed this goal. Today, the mise-en-scenes of the old city seem unshakable as Rome in the engravings of Piranesi. But a city is different from a completed work of art in that city perspectives change over time. Dramatically changed over the past hundred years, the vocabulary of modern architecture enters into a contrasting dialogue with the language of architecture of the past. How to relate the feeling of loss to the feeling of hope that the introduction of the new can promise the future of the city and unexpected aesthetic qualities and future development? Three engravings of Piranesi, in which contrasting invasions of the future appeared - this is a way to feel the inconsistency of the changes taking place with the old cities when a new architecture appears in them.
