So... what do you guys think about the Honda NAVi? Also, if you made it far enough in the video to hear me rant about dealers gouging people - sorry about that. I probably should have removed that portion but oh well, I'm just tired of seeing so many people get jerked around by dealers and it gives all of us a bad wrap. Well, I can't say "us" anymore since I'm not a dealer but I fought for so many years to get people to trust me because of all the bad experiences they've had at other dealerships and even though I don't deal with it daily like I once did, I hate seeing people have to deal with such a mess while trying to do nothing but pick up a toy to have some fun with. Seeing places zap all the fun out of our hobby with their games still aggravates me needless to say lol!

Here on Oahu they’re $3400 out the door and there is only one dealership on the island. I get things being more expensive here on the island but man it’s gonna sting if/when I get one. I haven’t gotten a quote for a grom yet but I may just go that route
@HondaProKevin

@@victorlong5233 Holy smokes, that's highway robbery and sadly they can get away with it due to being the only guys on the block. I'd be curious to hear what their numbers are on a Grom as if it's not that much higher, I'd lean that route. But if they're tacking on the same amount of crap and a $3,399 Grom is $1,600 higher like the NAVi is, it'd be a difficult pill to swallow choosing either one lol. It'd all boil down to which one you can justify spending the money on in your head and which one will make you the happiest despite having to deal with that mess. Aside from the specs being different of course, there are differences in the overall bikes when you get up close so make sure to check them out in person before pulling the trigger on one or the other. Navi can go 45mph comfortably so you can be right in traffic. Even an "unlocked" ebike is only going to go 28mph unless you customize something, so you still are going to be hugging the side of the road to avoid road-ragers. Though the ebike does open you up to bike lanes and bike paths if that is an option where you live.

So OK, I've only had it a week but it if holds up like the Zuma, it's gonna be number 1 on my small bike list. Had my Silver Wing and Spyder for the road but for an old guy, there's something adventurous about a 100 mile ride in and between suburbs on a little bike Actually only waited 2 weeks and I think because I made a nuisance of myself, and the sales guy was out sick, it took a week from box to driveway at just under $2600 in NV.

I thought about getting one but here in The Ohio Valley we have fairly strange and downright nonsensical laws and things considering scooters.I have a scooter endorsement on my drivers license I can have a scooter up to 149cc I believe is what I was told however the scooter cannot be sold as a 150 even though the engine displacement would be 149cc if the scooter is sold as 150cc I need a motorcycle license????The Navi looks like it would be great right now for gas mileage and it would get you there and back within a reasonable amount of time however I am pretty sure Ohio is considering the Navi a motorcycle so I would have to go and get my motorcycle license.I’m afraid of a motorcycle I’ve never had too much experience with one. I’m older now and a little heavy.I probably will not ever own a true motorcycle let alone operate one so I really don’t think I should have to be qualified on one and get a license to operate one if all I’m ever going to do is ride A scooter probably not over 250cc I really like the helix but I would need a motorcycle license for that also .I know they’ll teach you a lot of good things in Ohio motorcycle driving courses however I think I should be allowed to go Take the course and the driving skills test on whichever scooter I am planning on owning and driving like a helix or navi or the little Honda PCX.I don’t want a big Burgman 650 or something like that I have no experience on big bikes at all,,,for the past three years I have recreationally ridden a 2017 Honda ruckus. The ruckus is very cool and I’m going to start riding it to work soon 12 miles each way. The problem is 33 to 35 mph is pretty darn slow the MPG is going to be great and I’m going to save💲 however the ruckus is small and slow? I think being forced to get a motorcycle license to operate a small scooter it’s like telling people they have to get a license to operate a semi truck and learn how to shift 18 gears if they plan on driving a Ford ranger pick up with an automatic transmission????

Honda classifies it as a mini motorcycle the dealership where I bought it classifies it as a motorcycle and also the DMV also considers it as a and it has to be plated and registered. I'm 230 pound's so if you get yourself around 150 you can hit 55 MPH so it's a great bike. I can get 48 right now but down hill 55 😂

$1807?? Where do you keep getting that number?? That is wrong even from Honda's website, which lists its price as $2107. But you won't get one for anywhere near that. Dealers are scamming on these things like I have never seen before. Honda dealers (stealers) have always been big time scammers, but I have never seen anything like this. I have seen OTD prices (which is what you actually pay) as high as $4500+ PLEASE DO NOT BUY THESE THINGS AT UNFAIR PRICES. That only encourages stealerdealers to scam even more. Honda should be sued for violation of antitrust laws.

Where do I get that number from? It's the MSRP. Anything added on from there is up to the dealer but it's MSRP is $1,807. I wouldn't say "always" on the dealers part being scammers or stealers. I was a dealer and never scammed anyone or ripped anyone off. Always discounted things below MSRP, didn't charge fees, was up-front and honest about every single thing because that's how I wanted to be treated if the roles were reversed. Yes, a lot of dealers can do some shady things but it's NOT all of them. There are some trustworthy people out there that don't deserve to be lumped in the same category as those bad apples out there and if you approach those good people with the mindset that all dealers are horrible - why would they want to treat you well? The majority of the time I was able to turn people with that attitude around but there were some people that were adamant all dealers were bad, so I let them walk and they found out real quick that I was shooting them straight the entire time. Long story short, I'm not trying to argue as there are some crappy things going on right now (which is why I went on a rant in the video about pricing) but I hate seeing everyone being lumped in the same category when I fought against that for so many years. You're 100% correct in that people shouldn't buy from these places that are trying to get insane numbers out of these bikes. It only drives home the point that they can get away with it and we don't want that happening as it's a slippery slope...

@@HondaProKevin Ok, fair enough. I'll change my "always" to "most of the time" I am 62, and have owned around 60 bikes, well over half of them bought new. I have dealt with a lot of dealers, and walked out of a lot of dealerships because they were scamming. I was scammed myself several times when I was younger because I didn't know any better. I have to wonder why this kind of thing only seems to happen with motor vehicle dealers. I have bought a lot of furniture and appliances, and all I paid was the marked price plus sales tax. I have never had a business add a long list of "fees" to anything, EXCEPT motor vehicle dealers. That practice needs to come to an end. They need to sell things just like all other businesses do.

I'm not a buyer but I thought about it when it was 1st announced. Considering it was discontinued in India because it couldn't pass emissions there I'm not sure what the play is in the States. How did it pass CA emmissions if it's not legal in India? Why doesn't it get the full ESP engine like the other modern 110cc engines they use in the world? Did they just have a few thousand laying around extra? But the thing that soured me on it was the extra $200 shipping fee and greedy dealer games. My local dealer in Lexington KY didn't do that, they never do, very legit folks, but others did and it totally sucks because platforms like these could be someones first adventure on 2 wheels, and if we ever expect scooters to make it in the States we need happy repeat scooter customers.
@HondaProKevin
2 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting question and one I've thought about too... Now, this isn't from "Honda" but more my opinion. I think the BS6 emissions are quite a bit more strict than anything we have here in the states, it's more in line with Euro5 which is why we have a lot of models here in the states that aren't up to Euro5 regulations. So even though CA is strict in comparison to other states, it doesn't seem to be on the level of India etc. I'd LOVE to sit down with the people that make these decisions though and see what the real backstory is on how the NAVi wasn't slated for us and then all of a sudden, here it is. I think it'd be interesting. You hit the nail on the head bud, happy customers = repeat customers. Plus if you burn enough new riders trying to get into the game, they won't be back to buy a 2-wheeled product and we need as many people as possible getting into motorcycles, scooters etc.
@willyjimmy8881
2 жыл бұрын
@@HondaProKevin the emission thing is odd to me. On one hand I fear tighter controls would further limit our options, but then I think about all the bikes we don't get anyway maybe it's a mute point. For reference, I was looking at the Ariel grizzly right before I found out about the Navi.
@TheTrogolizer

The benefits of most ebikes, like the Ariel Grizzly, is you can ride it without registration, plates, or a license. This isn't true for all states, but the legal loopholes are quite real, especially when the ebike has pedals and a top speed of 30mph. The Navi will beat literally 99 percent of ebikes in the range department, and will go 2-3x faster while doing it. Of course, that means maintenance and whatnot, but batteries can be problematic too. Hope I helped you weigh the pros and cons
