You guys make me feel old! My largest saw is the 562 and it is about as big a saw as I want to use. At 83 it is perfect for cutting 4-5 hours a day. Anything heavier would destroy me! I love my 550 xp that I keep in my Jeep with a 16" solid Japanese bar on it, which is perfect for clearing the kinds of trees that I run into across the logging roads here in West Central Oregon. I've also run an 18" and 20" bar on it cutting large oak trees and it still had plenty of power.

I started out really liking Stihl best, but the more I used a Husky, the more I liked them. Now I have more Husky than Stihl. I really appreciate how smooth/low vibe the Huskies run and they're built really sturdy, metal handle bar and all, even on thier "pro" 50cc saws. The often maligned primer bulb is also occassionaly useful on empty, cold, or even some really hot starts. The weights of Huskies also balance well with optimal length bars for given displacements.

I bought one a few weeks back and I love it. Got a 24 and 28 bar for it and put a full wrap handle on it and it’s an awesome saw. I live in NC and a full wrap is not the norm around here. I just use it around the farm and it’s been solid from day one. I have been a Husqvarna guy for years. Only Stihl that I own is my weed eater. Great machine but I love my orange saws. I bought an old 51 about 10 years ago and it’s still a beast. That sold me and I will probably be and “Orange Man” till I run out of gas😉. Much love to you all. Be careful and be blessed 🤙🤙

I have two 562xp's and a 572xp. When starting... choke it and one you get the first "pop" and it fires, push the red switch all the way down as if you are shutting it off and let the spring in the switch return itself to the run position. This puts it in high idle mode and helps it start/warm up on cold days. Keep in mind that you can't do this with your chain brake on as it will burn up the clutch from higher revs and try to engage the centripetal clutch that drives the sprocket. Hope that helps some.

One of the many things I have learned from the Chickanic channel (she really knows her stuff) is instead of pulling the rope fully to start a small engine 2-3-4 times, pull the rope to just pull off 1-2-3 single compressions at a time and then you will see how much more easily the engine will start. This is particularly helpful to save the senior elbows/shoulders. Nice little saw.

At first start, you need to wait for 30 seconds for engine adjustment. Electronic carburetors measures altitude and adjust gas-air mixtures. You dont need to stay in front of the chain. The chain can unseat and may injure. The another point is adjustment of chain. It seems chain is so tight and engine has a bumpy ride. At first run, you should lubricate the chain for blade rubbing until coming chain oil. Husky 560s are excellent chainsaw. Enjoy it.

That is about my favorite size saw. I have bigger too but my back can't take lugging the heavier saws around more then I have to. As long as its a pro saw something in the 50-60cc range is perfect. Especially for a homeowner just cutting their own wood but its fine too if you are selling wood. I would rather my back not hurt so bad I can't walk or standup for 2 days then the little extra wood I would get cut with my bigger saws. Actually the other day I used one of my top handle saws lol. Its an Echo 335t think the model is. My back was hurting so bad from a couple days earlier when I took all the trees down and bucked up 2 of the hard maples I figured I would get out a small saw the next time around. 2 of the trees I cutup with it were pretty good sized ash and that top handle has a 14 inch bar and I could stand up after lol. There was a couple really hard beech too. Haven't split beech in a while man is it stringy. Unless its just the 2 trees I can't remember it being this hard on my splitter running it through.

@@InTheWoodyard I haven't ran that top handle Echo in probably 3 years. It was screaming. I def cut some stuff that it wasn't meant for lol. The 2 ash were probably 24 inch or so diameter and real good and dead. Didn't hardly use any fuel or bar oil either. Had no business with that little thing doing what I did lol. I have one new saw I haven't even used yet I need to try. I bought it 3 years ago. I think its a GZ360 think that is the model but its a RedMax. Husqvarna sells the same saw not sure what the model is only difference is one is orange one is red but its a rear handle version of a Husqvarna top handle saw. Figured it would be really nice to have a light saw like that for limbing and when I don't need a 60-80cc saw. It just pissed me off so much when the screw was snapped off for the oiler brand new in the box, I go to the Husqvarna dealer about warranty and he gave me a hard time telling me I should have bought it from him. So I ended up buying a new oiler. That is actually how I ended up with the Echo. I dropped it off at my local small engine shop to have him install the oiler I could have but he only hit me for $15 to do it. When I go to pick the new RedMax back up he asked if I wanted the Echo. Somebody had dropped it off a year or more earlier and never came back. So he charged me $40 for the saw which was what the invoice was. So I got a $350 or so top handle saw for $40 so I guess I made out alright

Only thing is, it should have more cc's than your birthdays!! - It looked to me like Kenny was trying to 'break-in' the saw by only using the primer bulb! Might work, but a poor way to make noodles!! He did show me a better way to quarter the big rounds, cut from both sides, and stop at 4 pieces!! That's gonna save me some chains, and some backaches!! Just a reminder, because Kenny didn't mention it, If you're a real firewooder, and you got plenty of noodles, Christmas is coming up. You can become a celebrity by giving multiple store bags of noodles wrapped with a bow!! I'm sure Kenny or Chris would've mentioned it if they hadn't forgotten. And it's a good way to kickstart karma!!

Yep my auto tune saw did the same thing the first time I took the chain off to clean it had the brake on and I was able to get the cover off but then couldn't get it back on! Had to reset the spring with a screwdriver it was a pain in the ass but now it's so easy just make sure the brake is off!

Chris - not sure if all the xp models start the same way, but I made the mistake of using the decompression to start my 562xp when it was hot. I had to let the saw cool down and then do the cold start procedure - I had to watch a YT video to figure out what I did wrong and why my saw would not restart - Now that I know how to properly restart the saw, I love cutting with it and my Stihl MS291 doesn’t see the light of day - I knew you had an issue with the brake - ask me how I know - enjoy the journey - cheers

400cm fits right in between the 572xp and 562xp. Even though I've come to like Huskies better, the 400cm might be the saw I'd keep if I could have only one for most everything. If not a 400cm, the the 572xp. Not much you cant do with a 70cc saw! So many great saws!!!

Why do so many husky's have a primer bulb but a lot of Stihls don't. Self priming carbs? Mine stihl usually starts in about 3 pulls and no primer bulb even after sitting for months.

I've had a 562 for about 2 months now. I probably should of gone up to a 572. Something's the 562 does well, it has more rpm than torque. Dry hardwood needs more torque and I need to get some bigger felling spikes. But I like the little saw Put some beeswax on the chain tensioner thread. It keeps the the chain from getting to loose/fast

Somebody was changing out the seals and bearings on a hard used saw. There was 3 balls left and the computer was adding enough fuel to keep the massive air leak from burning up.

Congratulations on the new saw, Ken! She is absolutely beautiful! It was nice of your brother to find some 592 wood for you to break it in with!🤣🤣 I often wonder how many guys have bought saws that were to big because of KZitem and bragging rights? 60cc is a great class for a firewood saw! Enjoy...👍

@@thefirewooddoctorThe 572 is an awesome saw also... I usually grab a 50,60 and 70cc saw when heading out. A guy has about all his bases covered that way. Occasionally though...the big artillery needs to get the cobwebs blown out them! The 500I is a perfect example...So many were sold and now guys are seeing that the 400 was overlooked in the 500 Hoopla and is actually the better all around firewood saw. The KZitemrs that have both all seem to be grabbing the 400 more and more and leaving the heavier 500I in the shop!👍

@@waynetharp, I'd get the 462 over the 500i. The new Stihl 400 is a pretty sweet little saw. If I was a Stihl man, I'd get one over bith the 362 and 462. And probably get a second 400 as backup.

Forgot to mention yesterday All the 5 series have greaseable needle bearing. Meaning on the clutch in the middle you’ll see a tiny hole Take your bar tip grease gun and shoot it in there So easy And lots of 5 series have been around since 2013 or so My 562 was a 2014 model

That filter is new for the 562XP. Its supposed to be better than the previous. The one I have lets too much stuff get by and screwed up mine. I have to rebuild the engine and get an adaptor kit to mount that filter unit. Not really complaining I ran the bejeezus out of the saw but changing out of the original style filter could save a major rebuild.

Yeah that brake/cover system … you have to know that works in reverse too. I didn’t know and was changing my chain out in the woods and couldn’t get the cover back on. By the time I was done I had completely removed the chain brake safety feature from the cover. Found out maybe a few months later why I couldn’t reassemble the saw … Probably should get a new cover because I’ve been running without that safety for a few years now …

I converted my little 18” bar 550 xp to run the 3/8- .050 chain like my bigger saws so I didn’t have to go out to buy those little stock chains…only problem is the puny saw bogs down as soon as it hits the wood…I’ll chain the sprocket and bar back to stock if anyone wants to buy the tiny, puny little thing.
