Nice car and great video, thanks. I didn't know DaVinci was free, I use FCPX but have now installed this onto my PC as my MAC is a little tied and struggles to render the 4K stuff my Insta360 kicks out.

Love your videos man! I actually watched your old video where you had that setup and was intending on investing in that once I'd saved up enough money, but this new setup looks much better. Do you think it's worth the extra price (this new mount is quite expensive, especially compared to the old setup)? Also, how would this mount fare on a car that had a vertical rear windscreen with no bootlid (like say a Golf or a compact SUV)? Would the secondary/tertiary suction mount still be able to work as a supporting arm for the selfie stick? Keep up the great work and thanks for the thorough report!
@sportzntouring

I don't feel like I can answer whether it's worth the extra price for you, but it is a high quality product and it's more versatile so probably will work better on a hatchback or SUV. For which, I think mounting to the roof is likely to work better than the window. Maybe, the side by side suction mounts on the roof with the support mounted on the window? It's hard to say without trying it. Thanks for watching the videos. I hope you check out some of our other regular vlogs!

Thank you! I'm glad my work can get that level of appreciation. It is one of the more expensive options for sure, but I appreciate having it especially as I use it on other cars that aren't mine. Repairing those if a cheaper mount fails would be much more expensive. But everyone's needs and ability to afford it will vary of course. Thanks for watching.

I've not used other brands of 360° cameras recently. There are plenty of comparison reviews out there and generally, the Insta360 360° cameras come out on top for the features that matter to me. It's worth watching a few for your own needs. When you say you want two cameras, are they both 360° cameras or do you want one 360° camera and one action camera?

I don't add any tethers. Not sure how you would, without adding more suction mounts. I only attach it to a clean, dry, smooth surface, and ensure it's got a solid seal and doesn't move before I drive. I also use quiet roads and never set off if that would mean there's another car behind me... But so far, no problems.

@@sportzntouring So my insta carbon mount finally came this weekend and I bought a new MacBook to use resolve (my old gaming laptop couldn't keep up with 4k🤣) When tracking the mount it starts to loose it's 'track' after a few seconds, which makes the glass wonky. I think you should make a video on this process, as there isn't any in depth information on specifically removing a car mount that I can find 😁🙌🏻
@sportzntouring
23 күн бұрын
@@robevans1685 you may need to keyframe the position of the clip underneath. Or, you may need to remove stabilisation on the exported clip. If that doesn't come out well, you can also try keyframing the insta360 footage so there's less rotation. Or, a DaVinci feature I'm exploring next is cloning.

By the way, watched both your video about removing the suction cups after the shot, what about high contrast shadows from the selfie stick itself and the suction cup? Have you ever worked under the full sun light? I think they are quite impossible to remove, especially because when the car does a turn, the shadow rotates like a sun-dial. Let me know if you something on that!
@sportzntouring
8 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes, this is a challenge. I've experimented with masking the shadow and trying to colour grade it out but it's a lot more effort and I've not yet succeeded in making it look right. It tends to look worse rather than better. But that may be a limitation in my skillset rather than the tooling. I'm just hoping AI will advance rapidly enough to remove the suction mounts and shadows automatically sooner rather than later! It's a lot of work each time otherwise.
