Just got my automatic today from Teddy's site. I don't think I'm ever taking this beauty off. Is there a specific time when the super luminova comes on?

Great review, thanks. I just want to point out however that the grey strap on these series of Bauhaus watches are far below par. I own the 100 jahre Bauhaus chronoscope with red hands and date window, very similar to this one... After just one week the strap gets unusually dirty and starts to look really really bad. No use to clean it or rinse it off somehow. And a new strap costs about 120 USD. So I got me an aftermarket grey strap which looks much better and costs much less. Normally I don't care that much about a strap, but these watches aren't exactly entry level... And on top of that the strap is part of the total Bauhaus color scheme, conceptually designed. So I can't figure why JH didn't do a better job on their straps. The watch itself is very special, though...

Which strap did you get for yours?
@BVcello

@@MarcelSchulz-Mannheim a slightly darker grey, stitched one from Hoders. It has black sides, which suit perfectly with the black clasp and case. It's a little thicker, but I think it suits better than the original...

Maybe it‘s just me but I‘m not a fan of the date function and would rather like to see the number 3 there. It‘s the same reason why I never bought the Form A. The new design is close to the original kitchen clock Max Bill designed, but not perfect. The 2022 model should have a sapphire crystal and a thinner body, considering it‘s price.

Great review as always, brother. How resistant is plexiglass to scratches, btw? Also, please review Tissot Visodate. Thank you & stay safe.

Plexiglass shouldn't be a problem, this being a dress watch. Junghans does offer upgrades to sapphire, though.

I do like most of the Max Bill watches, but the chronoscope makes no sense to me from a design standpoint. Adding the day and date complications and the extra dials makes the watch quite busy, which completely undermines the aesthetic, and for what? It's a dress watch, if you needed to time laps or whatever you'd be using a watch better suited to the purpose anyway.

I really like the look of the chronoscope but I'm a bit thrown off about it not really having a second hand. I like seeing some movement when I look at my watch. Could you just leave the chronograph running maybe?

Absolutely beautiful. I'd like to see the date window with the "4" visible so I can see if it matches the 4 just below it on the dial...

I'm seeing this on some Indian Websites and the quartz version seems to have a sapphire crystal? That's true or is it a listing mistake? Would be weird if they put sapphire in the quartz and plexi in the automatic.

@TeddyBaldassarreReviews
4 жыл бұрын
Hi Pierre, this channel is dedicated to covering watches available on my website as I desire to have a full review of every watch that I have on my site. My main channel covers a different variety of watches and will vary in format. I do not accept payment for content from any watch brand as I want to say what I want so this channel helps cover watches that I have available for sale which is is the number one way that I can continue to do what I do while supporting myself and my small team. Thanks for watching and for the question!

hi Teddy, what is your opinion of the 2020 max bill automatic versus the older models such as the 3502 (www.junghanswatchesusa.net/Junghans-max-Bill-Automatic-027350204_p_382.html) I had my heart set on the 3502 (more or less) until i noticed the new 2020 model. Do you think the 2020 is better tech wise or is just more of the modernist style update? i like both styles. i don't like the strap color of either model so i would change it anyways :-P Thanks and keep up the good work on this channel!

I really wish instead of you glorifying this brand, you held them to account for inferior quality compared to many Swiss and almost all Japanese brands. I'm your core viewer. I have purchased 14 watches in the last year largely based on your recommendations and while you have been 100% accurate with your other recommendations, my purchase of a Max Bill Quartz was a complete waste of money. They are like toy watches. The quality of the design is brilliant but everything else is of poor quality. The band, movement and crystal on my watch is disgraceful and it's pretty clear they are resting on their design laurels and shorting people of quality materials in their watches. I have heard this from countless other collectors and yet you continue to push this brand and give them plenty of coverage. Design isn't everything.

Thanks for the comment and feedback Stuart. I am surprised to hear your thoughts on the brand. I always try to ensure I make it clear about who these watches are for and if you have an expectation that these are going to be a rugged watch that you can bang around freely then I think you will be disappointed, which I think would be furthered if you go for the quartz but you are getting quite a difference in price and these are dress watches after all. Every brand has its own appeal and I think that is what makes the hobby special and when it comes to Junghans they do focus on design as it is what they do best. When it comes to the materials you are getting swiss ETAs that are clocking within out of the box spec (talking mechanicals of course), dials are usually printed but are well designed as mentioned, and yes, they use plexiglass (I always hear this) but this is chosen more as a design decision than a cutting of corners as more affordable watches like their Form A use a flat sapphire. I have owned my Max Bill chronoscope for several years and I still enjoy it greatly. It definitely is not a watch that I can beat around like my Tudor submariner for example but there really is nothing else like it from a design point of view and I enjoy it greatly for that aspect. I just think it all comes down to having the right tool or piece for your lifestyle. Thanks for watching!
