thank you! I was waiting for this review and have this foundation sitting in my cart for the Sephora sale. . I think I'm going to give it a try since I have more oily/combo skin and I think layering it on thinner as you suggested is the way to go. As always - your review was so thorough and helpful! Dang there are so many new foundations out now!

Yes, it's been awhile, but I hated it. For me being dry normal it was too dying and looked cakey. I didn't enjoy it at all. But it's been a long time, at least 2 years since I've tried it. Maybe I need to pull it back out and see how it works🤔🤔❤❤❤

I'm just wondering why it doesn't say how many subscribers you have? first time viewing your Channel.
@TaraLynnbeauty
5 жыл бұрын
I actually hid the number so I couldn't see it. It's nothing to do with everyone else seeing it. But I found myself concentrating on how many subs I had, and it was consuming. Lol. I was losing focus. I didn't start my channel to get a ton of subs, I started my channel to share my passion and give honest, thorough reviews on products for women in their late 30's and on. I found myself checking it several times a day, so silly. Lol. Now I go week's without checking it. I have a few friends that did it and it seriously feels liberating. But, last time I checked (which was about 2 wks ago) I was around 20,000 subs ❤❤❤ I'm glad you asked, because I think it's important to know why I have hid it. 🙌❤

@@TaraLynnbeauty thank you for commenting back. I really appreciate you being honest and I think it is great you're not letting it consume you anymore. you just gained yourself another subscriber. Plus having numbers isn't all that cracked up to be, besides PR and money/ads, it comes with alot of drama. In my opinion smaller channels, there fan-based are so loyal and they don't have to deal with so much drama. The bigger your fanbase the more crap you have to deal with. I feel like you lose that connection with your fans/ subscribers. I stopped watching most KZitemrs that have over a million subscribers. They just seem to be fake and all about making a profit.
@TaraLynnbeauty

@@ryath1030 YEEES🙌🙌 Seriously, I couldn't agree more with everything you said. I don't watch anyone much over 1 million either. The full of myself attitude isn't attractive too me, you're right, they lose that connection with their subs and start seeing them as a target to sell something rather than their family. I know they once felt like I do, that connection with their followers, but somehow lost it in all the money. My hubby has a great job and I didn't start this for money, I'm good and not wanting to get rich🤪 But that sub count was crazy consuming. Same with the likes & dislikes. Some of my videos can take over 12 hours to create, and I'll get 300 likes and 7 dislikes and I will focus on those 7 wondering why they disliked it. WHO CARES. lol. Hiding that was liberating as well. Now, I'm focused on what's actually important. But, I see how easy it is to get sucked in, and now I'm aware, I will always try hard to stay focused ❤❤ Thanks for your support, happy to have you apart of this journey. My KZitem family is seriously everything 🙌❤

@@TaraLynnbeauty I wish you all the luck in the world. I've learned never go into KZitem to make money. If that's your first priority, it's never going to work out. It is hard sometimes because we are our worst critics. I've always wanted to start a KZitem channel but I know I would focus on those few dislikes or harsh comments. I critique myself so much I could only imagine what it feels like for someone else to do it.

@@ryath1030 ya, its tough. The negative comments used too get to me, but they don't anymore. But it was tough at the time. Now I silently flip them the bird and hit delete. Hehe. A full coverage makeup that is unsuitable for acne prone skin? i have not heard of such a thing (they are called pimples or blemishes, not 'zits', by the way). So, as i understand you, you should not try to apply a heavy layer of this foundation, but judging by your final look, you should apply enough highlighter that you can be seen from the moon. Got it. Are you really 40? or late 50's with some less than subtle work done? It is pronounced 'sut-tle' not sub-tle, by the way. The 'b' is silent.

Crepe paper is definitely not a skin goal! You’d think that a foundation called a “balm” would be one for us dry skin gals, not people with oily skin! Tight and itchy is definitely not what I want. I’ll definitely put the $52 towards replacing my fall/winter shoes, that have finally died after 8 years, rather than this foundation.

Absolutely. In my description box, I have a skin care video link (it's a old video so I'm a little shy lol🤷♀️ ) but, in that video, look in the time stamps for the acne and I go through the products that cleared me up. I tried sooooo many different products and nothing worked. My dermatologist also put me on Spiralactalone (which helps to treat 35+ over hormonal acne) and with that and the Obagi system I discuss in that video, it changed my life❤❤❤ I RARELY get zits now. And normally it's due to testing a foundation that broke me out. 🥰 If u have any questions after watching, don't hesitate to ask❤❤❤🌷🌷

Hi Tara, thanks for the review! I am undecided. I do have mature normal to combo skin but don’t have any really bad areas on my face but am concerned what a full coverage balm would look like on me, lol. I’m trying to look past the novelty of this product and when I do, I’m thinking this may not be a good look on me. Ugh. So hard! I’m also interested in the new (to the US) Guerlain foundation. That may be a better fit. Thank you so much for the review. You’re so appreciated! 💕
