Oh kershaw... So close yet so far. When will they realize. The speedsafe only sells to the "Wal-Mart and sporting goods stores" market for normal people who just need a knife. And they should keep selling to that market it gets people into knives. But if they are going to keep making limited edition upgraded models for the "knife nut" market, take the dang 'ol speed safe out for heavens sake please please PLEASE. It's what we all want ( at least most of us it seems) It would be so easy too. Knockout m390 would be my edc no question if it wasn't speed safe. I know you can de-assist them, but the only model that really works well for is the Blur. If only those detent balls were ever so slightly bigger lol. Thanks for the vid

1:31 a note to Kershaw, i've been experimenting with composites and metal surfaced composites a while, you dont need a metal "locking arm" to do that job, only the faces that meet the back of the blade(locking faces)... a solid* (8-9 layers 2mm of carbon) back frame, with the right cut plus a 2mm thick stainless insert at the end, would make it lighter, sleeker and much more interesting, some brass sleeves and brass colored screws and hardware, BAM! u done a high end blade. =D

What a time to be into knife collecting. Such great knives with awesome materials being used on em. And the best thing is the cost on some of em. Heck some of these knives would had cost double with the blade steel and handle material.. At one time I used to be 1 of those guys who was always buy American from my knives. But hey if it wasn’t for these Chinese makers stopping their some of their cloning and making amazing original knives at a lot cheaper prices we were seeing in our American market making things here have no choice but to come down on some of their prices. Yes granted we still pay premium unfortunately for spyderco and Benchmade etc. which I do love and still buy. but seriously with so many knives out there under the $150 mark and having m390,cv20,etc. blade steel with carbon fiber, aluminum, titanium etc handles it makes me think twice before I do buy that $200 plus spyderco.(especially after their price increase). Ur like said I love my spyderco so still get em but man it’s hard when seeing some of these new budget knives out there. What a time to be a knife collector..hope prices keep coming down forcing others to do to.

@obxnice
4 жыл бұрын
anything over $200 to me is not considered budget knives anymore.. granted I’m not talking about mid tech or custom knives that is a totally different ball game. To me and prob most people , your Spyderco tenacious, Ontario rat, a lot of your civivi etc. anything under $75 to me is considered a budget knife. And honestly when I was able to buy, say the Spyderco Shaman for $160 and just little later you can’t buy a new one for under that $200 mark. Sorry do love my Spydercos and have triple more that brand knife then any other brand but with the way some companies are able to make knives nowadays with much better handle material then just g10 non sculpted or just very little and you can now get a titanium heavily sculpted and even anodized different colors with steel like cv20, m390, cts-xhp, n690 etc. granted not many knives like that out there but there def is well under the $200 mark nowadays.. so yes I may understand why and were u may say spyderco and Benchmade are budget knives with your mid tech and customs going from $400 to thousand. But sorry that is a small market compared to your reg knife community and non knife community. Most people would think us spending $50 is way to much, which I have spent that $500 plus before myself. But anything over $200 nowadays in my eyes should def be bringing a lot more too the table then just g10 handles and s30v. But hey I Did just got my second Kapara just few weeks ago so I don’t practice what I think when I want it. But market def is changing. For the better I hope and believe.

Hi, I'm relatively new to knives and recently bought the Fox Livri. I noticed after a day with it that the tip of the knife seems to contact the spacer/lanyard hole when it's snapped closed. This has resulted in a mark on the blade edge slightly back from the tip. I'm assuming that it's a factory problem and not that one has to be careful to close it gently. Is this a common issue with Fox knives?

$200 for a D2 blade? I don’t see it. $240 for a knife that size in S35Vn by Gerber. $235 for a Spartan in S30V. Tops BOB is $120 and it’s 1095.

Yes, there is something called import taxes. If it was the other way round, it would have been far worse. Sold for 146 euros ($162) in Italy.
@chloehennessey6813

Yiannis2112 What I mean is it’s not worth it for a D2 blade when I can pay a little extra for a S35V Knife the same size. Heck the Tops with 1095 would be better- it comes with a no questions asked lifetime of the blade warranty. $120 shipped. Tops makes great knives! I’ve got their Lioness Elite and a CUT 4.0, gonna order an Armageddon or a Punisher MX4. Not sure which one first.

@@chloehennessey6813 Yes, if you live in the US, that is. An Esee 6 for example (with its blocky handles and plastic sheath) is sold in the US for as little as $115. It's a good price. In the EU, the cheapest 6 you can find right now, is $189 (169euros). Would you pay $189 for a 1095 Esee 6, that you would also need to update with better handles and sheath and spend even more? So a Fox Bushman with its good handles and its leather sheath makes much more sense over here, than it makes over there. Import taxes is the keyword. I'm not even going to mention the cheaper postage between US states, compared to within the EU countries. Also, I'm not even going to mention how it is when you live in a European country, but not being a member of the EU (eg Norway). US knife people, are having it much better, with regards to what's coming out of their pockets, when buying European blades. You're paying less import tax, than we do for American blades. I'm not whining. It is what is. I just envy you...lol! You're absolutely right thinking the Bushman is crazy expensive, for what it is. I wouldn't buy it either. It's just that $189 is much more ridiculous for a 6. If I was in the US, I could buy a Bark River 1.5 for this price (which costs 268euros=$299 over here!!!!). Just wanted to explain this thing a bit and put things into perspective. Nothing more.
