I have 2 already in the 7:1 ratio on kvd gc7 rods for heavy cover. Love the big spool and handle. They cast a mile and I want to get a 6:1 for cranking. Thanks James!

The nice thing about the new BB1 is the line capacity, like the original BB1 ‘s of decades ago the increased line capacity is the key benefit of that reel…much longer casting ability. Today’s BB1’s are much lighter than yesteryear models, however the original models from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s era were much more ergonomic with the original teardrop design and minimal side plates. Palming the older style BB1’s with less side plate put you in much better feel / contact with the bait….Lew’s has brought back some great new reels in recent years ( I own several tournament pros , etc.) but for dedicated casting reels the “true original” teardrop BB1’s of the past were far superior, hopefully at some point the designers/ engineers at Lew’s can recreate the golden past. I will have to check one of those out, I have BIG hands so these reels that have gone to being more compact are not as convenient for me. I "reely" appreciate the review!

James, I appreciated the video. I currently own 3 Lews spinning reels and absolutely love them and now am in the market for a bait caster that can handle 8-14 pound line and that can easily handle medium sized square bills. Which Lews baitcaster do you recommend? Looking to spend $200 or less. Thanks

Which South Korean manufacturer makes Lew's reels. Is it Banax, Doyo or that Chinese company (I think it's called Haibo?) ???

As to the clicking sound on the drag, back in the dark ages when I started, most reels had the clicking noise and I kinda miss that on today's reels. I remember as a little kid wanting a BB-1 so bad, but they were far to expensive back then. I think they cost like $50 or something like that.

I would like to know if someone can answer me? I have BB1 pro 7.5:1 and it is my favorite, but I would like to know because it is ok to use it for swimbaits that are heavy 40-70 gr, wouldn't I want to spoil the baitcastes reel? I would be grateful for an answer if someone can answer me... Thank you
