I have one of these that could use a mini PCI express wifi upgrade. Could you do a video on how to upgrade that little card to add bluetooth? I don't know where the screws are or where the slot is. I've never opened it.

If I remember correctly, the wireless card is under the keyboard. It comes out without screws, just tabs on the top of the kb

i didnt use my eeepc for over 2 years and the battery is dead again and wont charge. is there a way to open up the battery and do something to bring the cells back to life?

I wouldn’t Open up the battery and mess around in there, as it can be dangerous. I just bought a new battery.

It should be safe to open up the battery case, just don't damage the cells. Start by removing the stickers. With luck, they might hide screws. There are companies that will replace the batteries in the case. Not the cheapest option but the advantage is that you can specify the brand of the cells.

hello random youtube commenter. i see your into Linux thats great; mind if i rattle some things off to you. so are there any issues or hang-up running AntiX so far. how well does it run a web browser with youtube playing. i have a dell netbook running fine atm but Micr0$uck doesn't support anymore. so it feels like im running out of options trying to maintain an updated web browser (nervous grin); i tried looking into a linux distro for it but installing going to be nothing short of a maricle since the bios is extremely limited, wont boot easily to USB if at all (so ive read anyways). using opera web browser at the moment seems to be saving me but im keeping my options open. do you have any other recommendations; thanks for reading haha

@@chrishenderson5444 AntiX is a little clunky and seems to be aimed at Linux geeks. It is good for what I am using it for. Just try it. I will only cost you time.

@@chrishenderson5444I shall continue with this "whoever who sees this thread" thing. For situations when pc doesn't fully support/has problems booting of usb I have usb floppy drive with bootable floppy disk that contains some bootloader, I forgot it's name, but it solves the problem. It works like charm since every PC made after 2000s has USB port and could boot off floppy. I'm also an linux user, my wisdom would be is to use only somehow popular minimal distros, except arch (coz muh arch) and gentoo (coz I nearly killed an old machine while updating), like void for example. After you wrapped your head around window manager and shit, move on to kernel optimization, good for ram usage. Idk why would someone stick to unmaintained distro, maybe I don't see the full picture, but stop it, get some help. Believe me, a 2 months full time lfs user, after few updates from source, (I meant when you update some lib to install fresh Firefox, some other programs that depend on the same lib either stop working completely or become biggy) it becomes hell. Following my onw advises Im okay with x230 as daily driver. Main tasks are browsing, office stuff and some codding, sometimes even gaming, mainly tf2 and some indie boomer shooters.
