I always take time into consideration when scraping. It’s really easy to make a $1 an hour on a stubborn piece of scrap. You gotta know when to give up and move on to something else. I’ve done every method because every winding is different, but air chisel is best. No matter how big/small or even burnt, it’s shakes everything a part

A couple of years ago I came across a motor those bits werent glued in with resin, or just too tight to remove. Congrats on finding a unicorn. On a clean bench you can use the angle grinder with a 1mm cutting disc and just sweep up the copper dust. I have a number of different size pipe sections to put the stator on while punching the wire out. Getting properly set up is the key with that repetitive work. On the stators that size allows it, I ude a meat cleaver and hammer to cut the stator and copper in half, which saves sweeping the dust. After 4 years of this I still only have a half kilo of dust saved- most motors I get are small enough for the cleaver!

I’ve found 4 or 5 that worked like this. Yeah I’ve been using a machete since I started my channel to cut them in half. I just like to show different methods and a subscriber asked me ti make this video.

Another good one boss! Keep up the work. You ought to save up a few odds and ends like that for the streams. On another note, the reason i can't see nice junk's videos , they don't come up when i put in the name

I usually use that method ,but mine is methodically and up to the detail. I remove the copper winding ,scrap the burnt out winding and reverse unwind the remaining winding to a bobbin for reuse in making transformers or rewinding other motors.

You can use an air hammer with a wide chisel bit to cut the windings on one side and then pull the rest through the other side. No copper dust/loss and no using up your cutting disks. Time IS money, More time = less money.

Suggestion … if you fine grind one side off , then put into a vise and take a cold chisel and hammer !!! The second side will come out straight away !!!!!!!!!!!!.

I get doing this to not have anything wasted such as the shavings from cutting that's why I put a bucket or a big enough tote underneath whatever I'm cutting to catch shavings

Scrapitall I appreciate your videos, but on this one I just get a reciprocating saw and cut one side then pry the other side out with a flat head. The pain though is some motors have paper and string holding together so the slow part of cutting all that off takes time. BUT as I said, love your videos brother.

Where did you find this motor? It's got to be a rare beast because most motor coils I find have been lacquered into one solid mass making it almost impossible to remove anything without making a complete mess of it. After winding the coils, they usually paint on a thick layer of lacquer to secure everything in place. In that case, I usually just bust out my BBQ grill, get some hot coals heated up, and then throw the coil on the BBQ. After sitting on the heat for about 20-30 minutes, the Insulators, string, and Lacquer are gone, and the copper just pulls right out.

If I remember correctly (it’s been sitting in my shop for months) it was a motor from a small table saw. I’ve done two this way, but, you’re right, most are covered in so much lacquer. Thank you for watching.

A Clean way to do it and recover all of the copper, but seems like it would take too long and time is worth something wether your being paid for it or not. How long did it take? God Bless You and Thank You for Your Prayers!! Subbing Now :-)
