The good thing about starting with so many tractors, is that you can sell a bunch and increase your bank account balance.

I think this map is great for using the "trigger-only"productions on. You just give all those buildings a new purpose. I'll give it a go right now. 😊

I haven’t played this map yet, and I have not played much any FS 22 because of all the issues. I feel that FS22 has went WAY OVERBOARD with all of the productions, to the point of being intimidating to play. I guess that why I’m still working on FS19. I like a map where I can just farm and not be concerned about all the other unnecessary garbage! I’m 58 years old and have farmed all my life, I don’t need all the extra headache to just play a game. Real live is too much of a challenge some days. If I could make my own FS farm, it would be my grandfather’s farm. I was raised by my grand parents and worked on that farm for 37 years, until they both passed away. I wouldn’t want to make it changeable, as it was the best time of my life.

After watching this video I took a flyer and downloaded this map. Spent about 2 hours in Giants Editor cleaning up the starting farm and deleting areas which look like they should have been buy/sell points as well as deleting static buildings from alternate farm areas. It now looks like a map for some proper small farming.

I call it my Uncle Les’ farm because he collected machinery and often had two of the same thing. 2.2 million worth of equipment in game which is fun but I would prefer to have some smaller fields rather than clump them all together

Great map I get it. But frustrating road is to narrow. I like how many machines you get. Shame can't sell the house. I've made part of the yards into small plots. The reason for so many tractors is to build your funds. Thanks

I looked at this map yesterday and thought meh; after watching this video I think I'll give it a go as a build-your-own-town map. Thanks, Mr.S.

When I saw great grandfather's farm, I hoped it would be something like the old Spectacle Island, but, it was a pristine farm with tons of equipment. The disappointment was palpable.

What might make it easier for you if you feel guilty for giving a less than stellar review is maybe introduce like a grading system. You can have different categories like scenery, ease of placeables, field prices, etc and then give number of “stars” for each category. Tons of creators do that. This way it’ll feel less “personal” when you critique it and it gives map makers useful feedback, instead of “ I don’t like it”.

No, please don't. Edit: Rating free stuff, rating peoples hobbies, without even knowing what they where aiming for when making things, is a bad move. Leaves a real sour taste with me and will potentially leave the same with modders sharing their stuff for FREE, potentially leading to less modders sharing their stuff at all. U don't like it - you don't play it. That simple. I have stopped watching FK videos for exactly this reason. The arrogance of a stupid rating system fur stuff nobody is obliged to share with us. You don't look a gift horse in its mouth.

Here is a wild thought - would you be up for going back to Elmcreek and re-reviewing it with all the experience you have gained over the last 3 (?) years in FS22, and in the same frame of mind as you went into this map tour? I would be interested to see how you react to Elmcreek when viewing it with the check list of points you have now, so ideally do it without re-watching your original Elmcreek review. I don't want to say more because it might influence your reactions if you do decide to do it, lets just say a lot of things (not the alpine backdrop) put me in mind of Elmcreek in your tour of Great Grandfather Farm.

Ravenport 22 frustrates me the same way. Shed whose door isn't big enough/tall enough to actually put vehicles in, and other buildings spread out on the farm that can't even be used. What's the point of them?

That's the problem paul a map tour is you going round telling people what you think it's like and what you feel about it a map tour is going round telling people what it's about you're giving an honest opinion the people don't like it then that's their problem that's what I like about you you're honest if people don't like honesty then that's not your problem
