I got one this morning! Been waiting for this device. It’s a dope (Controller) it’s not meant to be the same as the one/live/x! People just need to chill and focus on making good music. All these things are tools to make ideas come to life. Choose what fits! Simple! Good job Akai 🔥🔥

Hey Marlow great explanation of what this device is. So many peeps all ready hating on it and they haven’t even tried it. The screen is exactly what it is…a reference. And as for lack of Qlink knobs any midi knob can be assigned..I have an MPK225 ..Qlinks already assigned out of the box. This has so much functionality with minimal need to use a mouse. Perhaps people are pissed that they spent $1500 and could have spent $250? Like you stated a lot of people still use Mpc software even with the live or x. Nobody said boo about the touch? This is an MPC touch with out the screen! I love it! Your video showed a lot of the functions and what people don’t get is the amount of Software and samples make this a steal! If you break down cost of all software and packs included… the hardware is basically like $50?

Huge step down from MPC Studio (the black one). Tiny screen, like Mikro MK3. One encoder (not even 4 for the Q-links, 4 of which aren't enough to begin with). I don't know what goes in in these designer's minds sometimes. More knobs, not less. That said---- yet another perfect intro beat from you, brotha. And an excellent assessment of the product.
@apoclypse
3 жыл бұрын
They are probably thinking about cost. The MPC Studio originally was $599 when it came out and then dropped to around $399 when the Black was being sold. Its dropped in price over time but on release $269 is an amazing entry level price imo. I personally wouldn't buy one myself and just go with a DAW for that price but for people who want something more hands on its not bad. I don't think a screen was happening at the price point, even if it were in white and blue like the original. Even the Mikro which had a larger screen in the older version went with a much smaller screen when they released the new one. The older Mikro was also more expensive when released. So it's just about price really.
@DopamineOverload
3 жыл бұрын
@@apoclypse Hear ya. I just I dunno... sometimes choices are made design-wise that save money but over time don't seem like the right choice, that's all. I used to hate Akai but got bitten by the bug last year and picked up Touch, One, MPC Studio black, MPD218, MPK Mini MK3.... I can see the benefits of this pad especially with MPC Beats. Would have been cool if they released both at the same time, though!
@apoclypse

@@vjfxtheory Considering how popular the new MPCs have been over the last year or so I'd say it's just smart business on Akai's part.
