Hello Shark ! Thanks you for this cast !!! 😉 I totally agree with your analysis. Personally, there are 2 decisive moments in the game, which caused the fall of the player WM : - "Late game" : The WM machine seized when it stopped using the KettenKrad to give PaK40 the view. Greyhound and Easy 8 were able to do damages without compensation. - "Early game" : Here, I think this is the biggest tactical mistake of the WM player. After this BO (KettenKrad + Grenadier x2 + MG), WM chose TO Health + T3 + PzGrenadier. As you said, it’s very light. => More precisely, I would like to add these few words about his "early game" and the strategic consequences : - With this choice to condemn his T1, WM player will build only one unit for 2min30 (between 3min and 5min30). Defeat is at stake here in my opinion... too poor number of units to occupy the map, T1 weakened unit (no veteran), "useless" expense of TO Health. - The consequence comes a few minutes later. The PzGrenadier, alone, is not as good as before with the new patch against the US infantry (+30% at all range). PzGrenadier received this: nothing on short range, 20% middle range, +30% at long range. So now, against the US Fusilier without BARS, the PzGrenadier is equal on short range and middle range, and -50% on the long range. Make this unit as early, while it is more expensive (340 260), with the price of T3 (+150) ... It is a "car crash". At the same time, ARES (US Player) made Captain + Fusilier. And he could have made one more Fusilier, delaying the first Greyhound by one minute. With more unity on the map, ARES consolidated its Fuel and was able to release a Greyhound in its fastest timing. This will force, for WM player, to control an ATGun prematurely, and abandon the possibility of controlling the map. (Greyhound fights everywhere in the map against any type of unit, ATGun is fixed and only fights against the Greyhound, 1 unit only on the 8 US units). To this you add that the WM also has -1 infantry units. You easily understand that even the best CoH3 players can’t do the job in these conditions. => Now the tacticals solutions : - To prevent the Greyhound from arriving too quickly, do not take its WM technology so quickly. - Begin with this BO : KettenKrad + MG42 + Grenadier + Grenadier + upgrade Flamthrower on Pioneer (as soon as possible)... in the order you prefer. - 35 Fuel in reserve => T1 veteran => Supports (MG, Pioneer, etc...) get 10 hp by soldiers, Grenadiers can use "Heal", "Panzerfaust", and get +10% accurancy, +10% rate of fire, -10% to take hits. So stronger on the battlefied. - After the beginning BO, continue with Grenadier + Grenadier + T3. Now you have 4 Grenadiers and 2 Support (MG42 + Pioneer flam). US army can not defend his side fuel and challenge your side fuel for a short moment (Because of Scout + Captain + Jeep + Fusilier x2 + late fusilier or mortar after). So, Greyhound is delayed by few minute, depending of your success on the battlefield. - Mortar choice in WM. Built it after that (or inside beginning BO if US choose MG, or MG Paratroopers). - If Greyhound appears on the field (9-10min), now you can choose PaK40 (+ "8 Rad" with Tank WM Doc). Manage your army to get time, Use Panzerfaust. But if you have (or very close) 210 Fuel... Forgort PaK40 => T4 + Panzer IV (or Panther). - Depending of yours success on the battlefied, T4 Tanks come between 12 16min. At 16 min, forces "cut reinforcement on T0" to build the type tank needed (Brummbar vs many inf, Panzer IV - Panther vs many vehicules). Now, your abilities and choices will open you to victory. - In the case where you have not enough to build a Tank, build PzGrenadier for additionnal numbers infantries units to retake or maintain the map control. PzGrenadier (more hp, good on middle range) prevent better "no brain" players who rush with a "snow ball" infantry. If they are too many (more of 5), use a second pioneer flamthrower too !!! . To resume for all army on CoH3, "if you take your technologies too faster, you go to loose the map control, and the Fuel, and yours tickets". This is the main lesson to be learned from this game. 🧐. Paul! Excellent analysis, and I agree with your takeaway. Maybe this is something that affects team game players when they transition to 1s... Map control is more difficult and requires more units, value of early tech is reduced.

@@N7-SHARK I can relate to the comment about transitioning to 1s. I mostly play team games versus AI and whenever I do try 1s versus AI the first thing I struggle with is map control as my units are spread out compared to team game lanes and I don't really know where to go. This make me think playing against AI is teaching players 'bad' gameplay. Could also be a me thing as I'm getting old and my micro skills are certainly starting to fall behind.

Yes. Please start playing against humans. The AI caps and harasses like a savant but doesn't treat engagements the right way. You'll get lots of squad wipes and kills that a human would never let you have. Maybe I need to make a video about this, but don't worry any elo or mmr... Just play to have fun. Find a couple buddies, queue up a 3v3 or 4v4, have a beer, and try stuff out. The game is much more fun that way :)

i kind of want to get this once i get my new computer but i wonder if i am the only one who wants to see the soviets and the okw brought in. i know the theme is supposed to be what was in africa but the tiger tank was put in and according to reports from both sides the tiger tank while possessing very good armor and main gun was a huge pos and saw no action outside tunisia while being an absolute monster in game

Yeah they definitely take a lot of artistic license with history in the name of gameplay and style. The challenge with adding whole factions is keeping them separate and distinct from the existing ones... Plus the studio has gotten a lot smaller. I think a lot of folks would like to see expansion though.

A possible origin of Spade name could have been from Bartel taxonomy, a spade is someone who likes to dig into thing, either that or he likes BBD or both. It's a bit pop physiology and I think mmo developer putting too much stock into it waste resource trying to evenly develop for the so call four archetypes. USF have definitely gotten incrementally better, engineers cost 20MP less, and now jeeps are 40MP cheaper. These might seem like small changes but its enough to make engineer more prevalent now combine with the jeep change its 60 total manpower discount for Armored. It also means a smoother build time from engineer, jeep, RM, RM, ISC, RM. The jeep is squishier to small arms fire but the cost reduction is definitely outsized, it was viable before and its even better now. The changes were meant to encourage jeeps outside Armored but it absolutely buffed Armored. Rifleman have definitely gotten the better end of the TTK changes while its more of a fix to their performance the reload changes makes them more consistent. While they were always statistically better then their peers for the cost their weird quirks made them lose more often in situation where they should be favored. The Garand was less accurate and is weaker then other bolt action but gain a lot of attack speed as the RM closes the distance but this also meant they reload more often creating deadspots in their DPS, and the reloads were over 2 seconds. The other quirk is the Thompson gun on the Rifle lead which is weaker at all ranges, this is the last model to die so they lose power faster as the models drop, this was why they lost to DAK Pgrens. With the new changes they tend to come out on top more often as they should but it also means that USF got a buff. Something that should be kept a close eye on is early game buffs as they set the pace for the rest of the game. The TTK changes was ambitious and honestly needed but there will be winners and loser despite everything seemingly getting a 25% dps boost. In games like Age of Empire 2 a small surplus of the food resource was often better then permanent passive because it often lead to one person having one more villager through the course of hundreds of games. Buffs to the jeep and dingo can be dangerous for that reason while a slightly overpowered Tiger is less problematic because you expect it to be a bit strong and it often times doesn't even show up in games while smaller pieces like T1 mainline and utility are in almost every game. WM breakthrough have gotten a bit weaker. The absence of a buff to the MP40 means that while it will do more damage its not 25% more as only the remaining 3 BA model will do more damage. Perhaps it was a bit stronger before considering unlike most SMG it got a built in sprint, could be merged into, and then heal itself after combat. The sprint could be used to easily wipe out a utility too. It still strong being able to easily beat a RM and do all those things but at least on paper the risk versus reward is worst with them. Perhaps justifiably so but the rest of the BT needs a second look, I think it was crutching hard on MP40 grens. For a Tiger to be unlock you need 13 CP. 1 CP can be gain from about 15 infantry killed, 7 minutes have pass, jeeps are about 5 infantry kill, greyhounds are about 11-12 infantry kills, and E8 are about 22-24 infantry, I think building also give CPXP but I haven't looked into that. USAx3 only got enough for that after 26 minute. Meanwhile, the increase in CP for war-machine doesn't change much perhaps a bit too slow for greyhounds but you never had enough fuel to build the E8 after unlocking production on them anyways but overall I think armored got better.

You're spot on here... Armored got a buff, not just in manpower reduction but now with the canister rounds. I think overall it also makes it a little more forgiving for us players to take the early game lead they need to scale against axis
