At first sight... very cool design! Then, seeing all of the various cords/bungees, how to manage the dangle and cord conflict... I'll wait for next iteration.

nice to see they finally beef up their shoulder straps but agreed that the cinch pocket would fail under rain. It also seemed to be on the heavier side for outdoor backpacks.

Hard to believe how much of a design fail this one is. Long dangling cord on the front with no way to manage it, a roll top that doesn’t close and seal that compartment all the way (covered in the pack hacker review). I don’t know what they were thinking with this one.

The rolltop implementation is a headache. If you think it is tricky to implement, please look at Wandrd - supereasy to use, roll, tighten, without the tonnes of hanging ropes.

@JayWing9

It's designed for the outdoor folks and is meant to compete against other hiking backpacks. It's not for the city folks so yeah, not the target audience for most but definitely for hikers. I've been hiking alot recently and I can see the demographic for this bag. For most it's a pass. If hiking and the ultra light market are not your thing, this isn't for you.
@Urbanjeffery

Definitely but outdoorsy stuff like this is definitely filtering down to mainstream who like the aesthetics. Lots of stuff like Sealson, Snow Peak and And Wander. They are definitely trying for that market Can't keep making travel bags
@JayWing9

Yeah man, for hikers this feature set is beast. It looks a lot more sleek than the typical ultra-light offerings out there. The rope bungee, external stretch pockets, and the vest style harness look super useful for them 5 to 10 mile hikes. I've done a few trails this year and now going down the outdoorsy gear rabbit hole. Dedicated pack for hiking. City folk and commuters will have another bag for work and general edc.

As a hiker and backpacker I can't say why this would be interesting. That front pouch is super useful, if it had a hole in the bottom. It would be nice for the rain gear. Like this I don't know why it would be better than any of the outdoor brands I have used. Lot of dangling cords as well. No idea why I would pick it over an osprey, gregory, mystery ranch, even my evergoods mpl22 (which does have drain holes).

Rolltop plus zipper clamshell is strange since rolltop is usually there to protect from rain or from pickpockets. The all-around zipper defeat the purpose and the other compartment has no protection from rain either. Very strange bag.

WANDRD and Nomatic make better bags. It would be hard for me to buy a PD bag after getting stuck with the concrete straps on the Everyday bag. I do like their slings. Some of the design decisions are strange for a bag they are marketing as being for the outdoors, and they are heavy.
