I am not a professional car detailer, but even if I was, I still like the small, cheap units. They put out enough pressure and I like the fact that they only put out 1.2 gallons of water, if I was in mobile detailing to save water. They typically have a high-pitch whine to them, but this can easily be solved by building a cheap enclosure that will absorb a lot of the noise. I am sure a unit like this will outlast the cheaper, smaller units, but you would have to go through 4-5 of the cheap units to break even.

Hey Josh, a few things that I noticed when looking into this pressure washer. At the end of the video, after comparing the Adams to the Active unit, you stated that the Adams 2.0 (basic) is $699. According to Adams website, it's $599. Also there is a sitewide 25% off sale right now which brings the price down to $450 USD (pre tax) with free shipping. So a nice value to be sure. Also, you didn't mention if the Adams unit is serviceable or not. I think that's important in a pro (sumer) level induction motor pressure washer. Thanks for bringing this unit to my/our attention with your great review.

Appreciate the review. The unit is not serviceable from the standpoint of oil changes. What makes the active 2.3 standout is the performance and serviceability of the pump and external components along with the oil changes. When you factor that in you have a unit that will out last a non serviceable Adam’s. Let me add that Active is building a whole ecosystem around their pressure washers . Soon to be released is the foam cannon 2.0 and lance. This should elevate the user experience. Actives “loudness” is a moot point for me as the unit is quiet enough for me. Matt Morman is cry baby and all he wants is you to buy from him on his online website.
@Gazziza29

I've watched a few OG and Matt Moreman videos. Guy comes off as a elitist, pretentious snob. Basically if you don't have a $50K+ to put into your garage he believes it is trash. The brand and their zealots reek of people that do nothing more than keep their garages and cars clean rather than actually using their garage for utility. My garage is not spotless, well because, I use it to work on cars, woodwork, store my ski's and bikes, home and garden stuff. You know, like a real world person!!! Dude is not getting a cent out of me.

@@Gazziza29 totally agree. with all your comments. We use our garages for everything, not clean studio to do pretty projects. Matt Mormon is a mouth piece at best and creates nothing, he has "other " people do the heavy lifting and takes credit. Mike who seems to do all the heavy lifting and some times cooking, while Matt just flaps his gums and stuffs his face while other work around him. If he doesn't offer any detail products thru his online store and you don't buy from OG, then he loses sales and that hurts his online business....food for thought. I personally will NEVER buy anything from his online store as it can be found everywhere else.

Nice machine but the issue with this one as with so many others is the orientation of the pump inlet & outlet fittings is 180° to one another which is goofy considering they have a "front" to the machine which is at 90° to the inlet & outlet fittings. It's almost as if nobody thought to turn the pump housing casting inlet point to 90° of the hose connection points when they designed the pump head. We'll likely purchase one of these around Black Friday and mate it to the Uberflex hose and the MJJC Pro V2 we purchased off of your site. Cheers and thanks for the review, Josh.

I will never understand why anyone would pay gobs of money for a non-serviceable pressure washer. Especially when you can get a serviceable unit for around the same price or maybe just a bit more. If you can’t service the pressure washer, that means it will fail at some point and you’re left with junk. That’s just dumb imo. I will say, though, this pressure washer looks good and the sound is just right. It’s got decent numbers … I’d likely go with a 4.0 nozzle but I like the pressure a little lower than most do. But, on the other hand, I’m not dropping $500 on a pressure washer that’s just going to die anyway. 😊😊😊
