Morrowind is still the only game I've ever played where you can make the fast travel system completely obsolete if you know what you're doing, without glitches or mods. I consider the removal of jump, levitation, and teleport spells starting in Oblivion to be nothing short of a crime against the gaming community.

Hlaalu is House №1 only because it reminded us of our goverments. At least for me it is. And now, when I am past 20 I undertand... there is something understandable about how Telvani just live always alone (and because of Divayth Fyr).

Something I love about morrowind architecture is not only do Imperial and native settlements look very different, Telvanni, Redoran and Hlaalu settlements all have their own unique looks and can be identified immediately if you're familiar with the game.

Many people have an issue with morrowinds combat for how arbitrary it feels, including myself. However i think its combat systems are fine. The issue is presentation and communication to the player.

16:30 you forget the part where the universe is the dream of a gigantic god named "the god head" and how his dream was about two men who fight for a girl and kill themselves, and in the puddle of blood is the oblivion and the et'Ada that are pure energy being. some descided to go away and pierce the sky with the sun and stars. and the others decided to create the worlds, the Aedra create the world but become planets. and the Daedra just watch and do their things.

First time I heard the name vivec in morrowind, I was kind of like, "what?" Coming from a place where vivec is pretty common name among the hindu population with the word itself meaning conscience/judgement/discretion, with the dunmer people being very traditional whether they are ashlanders or cityfolk, Morrowind just felt closer to home than pretty much any other game. I just played the game for the first time a few months ago and I wish I played it earlier.

Every time I play, I always end up making the empty fishing shack on the outskirts of Gnaar Mok my base. For me, that little building is probably the coziest place in all of video games.

The immersion that's achieved so effortlessly through stone cold classics like Morrowind (& Gothic I+II plus The Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos) truly is a lost art (which is a damn shame). My two cents on an potential remake in the future, 'updating' to a current remake format would be to the detriment of the alienating atmosphere thanks to the idiosyncratic art direction & non-photorealistic graphics of this sincerely timeless anomaly. Sure as hell can't, improve upon the magnificent skyboxes & glorious soundtrack. Nostalgia (for simpler times). Putting this gem in my 'watch later' playlist to make some spare time to watch as quickly as possible. Mad respect for the dedication to the grind! PS Cheers from the Netherlands, ya absolute madman!

I think it's because of my own knowledge on non Abrahamic religions but I always find it funny when people talk about how weird Morrowind's esoteric aspects when it's like you said, taken from Hindu and New Age religions

i sure do like this game, i just wish it would stop crashing every time i try to do something cool. or just walk through too many door transitions... still, ill never forgot being chased halfway across morrowind by a seemingly invisible creature that i only learned after i died that it was a cliff racer that sent me on a vengence quest to kill every cliff racer i encountered and left their corpses rotting in the sun (i disposed of all others)
