@@anio1349 That my friend is cyberpunk. There are many -punk genres of art and literature and such, but cyberpunk was the first. What's important is that it's punk first and foremost and the other half of the word is a subset. Most steampunk you see for example isn't about the horror of the industrial revolution and the power of steam engines and the rise of empires and capitalism. Rather it's usually just a watered-down aesthetic. Yes it's deeply ironic that a poorly made AAA game used the word as a title with zero introspection.

The sheer awesome engineering that goes into stuff like this blows me away. I have a friend who is a hip level amputee (and the higher up, the more complicated the prosthetics get), and she got a knee that looks like it's straight out of NASA. I'm super jealous that they don't make exoskeletons like that (well, that any normal person could feasibly get), since I'm an incomplete C5 quad. Congrats on getting a better mobility option! I hope that it fits well into whatever shoes you need it to! My reaction to seing it before you explained it's uses, was probably not the typical. My first reaction was whether it will fit in your shoes because it looks taller in the foot in front of the ankle than my memory of seing your other foot. I had foot surgery in March and again in November and on my foot where the black ring is on your prosthetic foot, I have an implant, it's possible that the swelling will reduce enough that I'll get my old shoes back on, but I think that implant will mean that I won't wear my cowboy boots again since I can't get my foot past that point and my foot bumps out there now. It's a small price to pay for better mobility.

I think it was originally a dirt bike rear shock. The guy who founded BioDapt, Mike Shultz, is a snowmobile and dirt bike racer who lost his leg above the knee in a snowmobiling accident during the race. He realized that the normal prosthetic ankles and knees suck for sports, and built his own leg. He then won a gold and two silver medals in the Paralympics snowboarding with his leg, thought more people would want one, and started a company around it. He sells a knee and three types of ankles/feet.

So I understand and sympathize with you more than you know of how strong you are to endure through the misery. Wish you the very best and God bless ❤

The shock is about 600 - 800 USD (probably 2x - 3x less for a company ordering in bulk), and the bearings, sheet metal, labor, shipping, surplus for profit (probably only a 1.5x - 2x upmark since it’s atleast partially produced with use rather than sale in mind), etc. would probably bring it to around 1500ish.

A word of advice from someone who's ridden motorcycles (many adjustments on suspension) and plays electric guitar (many knobs on amplifiers and more on effects), there are generally a few settings that are really good for specific things, and a bunch of settings that aren't much use. It always pays to ask someone that's used one already. And have fun with it.

Heck yeah that's cool! Like with every situation, specialized tools makes everything more interesting and rewarding when you get it to work. Tips: take pictures of the current settings, so you have a neutral point to return to if needed and do the same for the future favorite settings. I hope there's an instruction manual and perhaps a help site for issues, so you get help if you need it. I'm not sure if you said dual piston or dual action piston, but the brass colored pipe thing with a red band is a piston AFAIK, and that could have it's twin in the upright part where you held your hand (hence dual piston) or the visible piston has a dual action function like restraining movement in both directions (dual action piston). This is from the limited visuals of the video and my technical knowledge of electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, not any direct knowledge of that type of product.

Congrats! I want to offer my knowledge regarding the shock. I've got over 20 years experience as a cyclist and bike mechanic. At the shop, I was the one (usually only one) who wod service the entire components. Also the one who would set up customers with the correct air pressure, rebound, preload, etc. Modern shocks can do amazing things, BUT they *need* to be tuned to your body and your needs/activities. I assume the there's someone who can do that in your area, but feel free to ask me anything about it, like setup specs or whatever. I get that... Ya know... You aren't a bike. Haha, but there are some good things to know about modern suspension, like this: You said you have a double barrel in there (aka "dual/double banger"). You have one large chamber that creates most of the spring/return pressure/however you put it (guessing, since I couldn't quote see a make and model). THEN, if you go into something gnarly, the "piggyback chamber" valve breaks free, thus engaging the additional little chamber. I've been out of the business for a few years, and without getting a good look at that one, I am guessing here, 100%. But, I've been servicing suspensions since the 90s, watching it go from "coil and oil" to pretty much all air springs. Then single air to pos/neg chambers, and also piggyback chambers. Sorry, rambling! Bottom line: lmk what model that is, I can tell you how to set it up. That was my job. Not to brag, I was damn good. I'm the weirdo that reads operation manuals and schematics... For fun. But nothing feels better than knowing you're able to set up equipment the best way possible, for whatever situation comes up. That's enough, sorry for writing a novel in the messages! You've got a really good channel, all the best--Pete--
