Built a punt YEARS ago in my garage thanks to your videos. Looked and sailed exactly like yours. Great memories.

@@RustyKnorr I DID! :( moved from near a lake to .. a landlocked community. I pretty much gave it to a young family so they could enjoy it. Here's hoping they still are! :)

DAMMIT, Lurch! A new sail and you still have that damn ratty ass tail on your main sheet hanging off that knot!!! 😂 Every video that thing drives my ocd absolutely INSANE!!! 🤣 Love your vids my friend.

Sorry Rusty, I really should do something about the tail, more so now that I have a new sail. I kinda like the double thickness on the mainsheet when going up wind, so for your sake / sanity, I might just wrap something round it. Mind you that does mean it could look worse than it does now!!!

I built a duck punt last summer and I'm sailing on the Illinois River. Have you ever sailed with two people

Yes, but it is a little cramped. The performance is also not as good.

Mind you, I am 6ft 4, so take up quite a lot of space in the punt anyway.

Also, where did you order your sail from?

How do these boats handle in chop?
@lurch1e

Mmmmm, it depends how big the chop is! They don't have a lot of lift in the bow, so in larger waves they ship a lot of water. They are ideally suited to creeks and inland waters.
