Did you ever get scope caps for your 4.5-14x50? If so what size do I need. Can't find any info for that scope on the butler creek website. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I'm trying to understand if the parallax is even important. Every video I watch, people are ranging and then shooting without touching the parallax dial or attempting an eye test. Also what's your thoughts on using this out to 1000 yards.
@MrVonkliest
3 жыл бұрын
Parallax is cool to use if you don’t have a range finder. You can dial the distance on the parallax and when your target is clear that’s about-ish-kinda about the distance you should be using to reference your dope with. It’s not very precise and it isn’t a work around for serious shooting but if you’re hunting and forgot your shit, it can work in a pinch.

If you pair with Kestrel how the dot will show on the scope at 1000 yards? Will it still show dot for 1000 yards as it is limited to 800 yards? Just curious. Great review. Thinking of this sierra6bdx 5-30x56 and kilo8k.
@EastmansHuntingJournals

Great question @Enayet Chowdhury. The BDX system tops out at 800 yards, but other options in the Sig system through their app exist for custom profiles to be set up per shooter and you can change from the BDX mode to the BDC mode, utilizing more of the Applied Ballistics capabilities of the system. You can then choose to turn on the yardages in the reticle that you wish to see by using the app on your smartphone when it is paired with the scope. This, essentially, give you an electronic dope chart. Pretty sweet system!

@@EastmansHuntingJournals really appreciated the response. Maybe you can do a video on this? Sure lot of viewers has question on how to work the bdx past 800. My scope and kilo8k is on the way, I am sure I will figure it out once I play with it. Again thank for your suggestion. 🙏. Keep up the great work.

Does this give dial up if you’re using a different scope? Through the bdx app?
@EastmansHuntingJournals
2 жыл бұрын
@Dave74 longrangeshooter: yes, if you set up a profile in the app and are using a Sig Sauer BDX rangefinder, the rangefinder will give you your dope and allows you to use MOA or MIL.

I envisioned this in 2012 and wrote to a few companies detailing it. Glad to see its a reality now. I would like to see you use the windage too. Is this part too difficult to use? I ask because I've seen 3 videos on it yet they only talk about windage no one has actually tested it on the scope.
@toddhelms5241
5 жыл бұрын
To be quite honest, I've never had occasion to use the windage feature, if it's windy enough that I'm concerned about drift I find a way to get closer. From what I've seen from Sig using the windage feature is simple if you have the correct tools and have them paired correctly.

If I’ve zeroed the scope at 100 yards with one ballistic group, and then I change ammo With a different ballistic profile that I have an input into the scope do I have to sight it in again?
@EastmansHuntingJournals
7 ай бұрын
You will definitely need to re-zero your scope when changing to different ammo and using a different ballistic profile. With that being said, you can set up/use different profiles once you've got your zero with each load, so you don't have to re-zero each and every time if you use the same loads in your hunting scenarios. Zero with whatever loads you want to use, then you can use profiles that you've set up or the preloaded profiles in the app. Thanks!

Great coverage on the electronics & all that, how about the quality of Glass tho, is this scope sturdy but not to heavy, does it have smooth controls, consistent turrets etc etc... At its price point with electronics inside its no doubt cheap glass from Phillipines/China if so whats your opinion on the quality of it ? What other scope would you compare the glass to? Thnx EDIT- just got several updates saying it's a shame they really wanted to like this but the Glass is a Horrible let down. What a shame!!
