I love that Spyderco is willing to experiment with different steels. I generally am not a fan of limited edition runs, but offering users a variety of steels in a mainstay knife (like the paras) allows the market to decide what is worth investing in. I absolutely love the LC200N and would like to see it on more knives. Much different than Benchmade's approach of doubling down on only a couple steels of tiered quality.

@@msharmall7298 I will admit, some of Spyderco's designs I still find ugly. And a very unpopular opinion here, I'm not a big fan of the lightweights, I don't like the way the handles feel. But there's also a lot that I really like. And sure there are a handful of brands that offer comparable materials for less money. But I still like my Spyderco's, mostly for the design surprisingly enough considering my earlier opinion of them. I've grown to like the spydie hole a lot, and I really like the ball bearing lock and compression lock. That, and Spyderco does back locks very well. I normally don't like them, but I have a Native 5 that I love. And the back lock is easily operated with one hand, which I really like.

I think it’s kind a silly point. If you want a working knife buy a base model, the sprint runs are for collectors and knife fanatics. If a certain sprint is super popular they almost always use those elements in a permanent/extended run. Great example is lc200n, m4, maxamet, etc
@cp1532
4 жыл бұрын
@@jetsgo66 I agree with you, I like the sprints from an enthusiast stand point, but not from the collectable angle. What would be ideal for me, is just if a sprint is really popular and sells out very quick, just do another run! And keep doing runs, maybe smaller runs, until sales slow down indicating everyone that wanted one now has one. This would make them less collectable, but also less ugly.

@@jetsgo66 exactly, people want collector items with exotic supersteels for base model money and complain about the collector market, these knives wouldn't exist if it were not for collectors who beg for them and are willing to put up the price. I love that Eric refers to the paramilitary 2 as a para 2 sometimes and the para 3 as a paramilitary 3. Maybe now some of you will stop being such STINGY DING DONGS when it comes to those knives names.

My left middle. It was kinda dumb...We zip tied someone in his sleeping bag and when I was cutting through the ties with my para2 after the prank was over he bucked and I sliced off a good chunk of meat lol. Instant payback 😂

Nothing really for me.... not anymore into the latest n greatest hype steels(especially at these prices), my shaman is already a super heavy never carry 200$ paper weight, and already own the best Spydercos(Kapara, zdp-endura4, M4manix) with the Kapara being THE favorite, I just don’t feel the need for ANY of these....

They should upgrade the steel on the tenacious to at least D2 like most other companies are doing. Their budget line is overpriced for what you get in my opinion.

The tenacious 8cr has held up very well for me.
@Mike-zr6fb
4 жыл бұрын
It can hold up ok, but for the price it should have better steel than 8cr. Every other manufacturer is using D2 now for their budget lines. 8cr or even vg10 are outdated.

Stop. The damn. Sprint. Runs. For god’s sake. &Now there’s a MORE exclusive line? You’re going backwards, Spyderco.
@The4cp

I agree. Sprint runs rip off costumers with lack of availability and bring out the jerks of the knife world selling them off at double the price. At least the PM2 tanto isn't a sprint. They would loose a ton of money if it was. They probably lose money on sprints already because many more people would probably buy them if they were available.
@hellcatdave1

Sprint runs test the market and are also good for loyal customers. Not only that, but I've never had any "jerks" telling Spyderco sprints for insane prices, a lot of people are willing to sell them for reasonable prices especially used.
