I bought the Ruby Red JB maybe a month ago. Until then, I had played a frettless Fender JB for, I don't know, seven years? Anyway, the quality of the instrument feels better than the low-end Fender basses. The electronics feel way better than what you'd usually find on Squier instruments and the fret ends feel better than those on my Fender Classic Series 50s Telecaster. It's a very versatile instrument and also feels very durable. I was torn between this and the Sire bass guitars for months and I think I really made the right choice. I think the most surprising part was that the instrument felt perfect straight out of box. I wasn't expecting that, because... well, it's a Squier and I know the shop where I bought it from doesn't do setups. I usually have to adjust the truss rod a tiny bit and check the intonation too, but this one had no such problems. However, I must say one thing: Since it indeed still is a Squier and not a handmade high-end instrument, don't expect things to be 100% flawless. The binding around the fretboard does have some tiny ugly parts, but it's not a museum piece for me. I play every day and pay way more attention to the feel and sound of the instrument than the tiny things. With this instrument, I get the right feel and sound AND a very beautiful finish. If you're a player instead of someone that just likes staring at your instruments and showing them to people, you really can't go wrong with these.

First it's Squier. Nothing to do with Chris Squire. A 40's???? Electric basses were even not invented in the 40's! You have to use a double bass before the 50's. Going back to school won't hurt you... The gold ones are very good looking. But... Because there is a big but! I searched everywhere to see if we can purchase a golden bridge or tuners looking like Squier-Fender ones. That don't exist! Like a good cop in USA! What if you drop the bass on the floor and you break a tuner??? What if the tuner is broken by itself one year later? What if you want to upgrade but still have the Squier-Fender look with the tuners or the bridge?? Nothing goldie on Fender site on the parts department... Big but... So i went to a Vintage one! A zillion chrome tuners looking like Squier or Fender everywhere!!!! So your doomed mister... Bad thinking...

"Forget Me Nots" is a 1982 song co-written and performed by American R&B musician Patrice Rushen. It appears on her seventh album, Straight from the Heart. Making a radical shift in her music, Rushen would continue to harness the particular style of this record all through to her next album Now, released in 1984. The bassline is particularly recognizable, and was performed on the record by session bass player Freddie Washington. The tenor saxophone solo was played by Los Angeles session player and recording artist Gerald Albright, who also appears in the music video of the song. The lyrics are from the point of view of one professing her longing for a rekindling with an ex-lover. In one part of the music video, the girlfriend of the ex turns her attention to another man. As the singer reunites with the ex, they vacate the premises, leaving the now-ex-girlfriend forlorn. She ruminates on the romance's end and sends the lover forget-me-nots, a flower that since medieval times has been given and worn to symbolize enduring love despite absence or separation.

Call me old-school, but I can't help but love the looks of a Jazz or Precision bass with binding and block inlays. Visually I don't think the white paintwork goes well with the hardware and scratchplate though. Darker colours would look much better to me with the gold effect, something like a darker red (burgandy maybe) or black would be a better combination.

My p bass arrived this morning. The blue one. I was a bit worried, buying a squier without testing in Shop for 500 e /600 dollars I wasn t sure. I have no job because of my health...I needed an alternative. As a jazz bass guy for two decades, I already added a Sire at my fender Ones...but for p bass,Im sorry, but Sire doesn't make it...so I would try squier.have been already upset years ago,I have to admit they really improved,finish,quality,sound...and the set up is minimal...no need to go see a guitar tech or a luthier. With my little knowledge it took me 5 min to change strings, adjust action, trus Rod was good.Im very happy and would rate it 8/10 quality/price, Maybe 9. Sire would be 9 for jb ...nothing to say just that the landscape is evolving and now the olds prejudices are no more accurate...mexican fenders are pretty good...it Will neveu ne thé custom Shop, but in the 80's even a big price instrument could be the wrong one....not saying this is perfect or not expensive enough, just saying Im glad and would gig and record with it no problem

I wish Squier would have come up with a different kind of approach for their 40th anniversary models. I mean, they just threw some vintage colors and inlays, « gold » stuff all over the place but no string through body bridge, no roasted maple neck, no paranormal stuff…. Not even a single fretless model (let’s say a 34inch jaguar base model with firemist gold and some creamy white stripes on it)… but NOTHING. They are just using some high end custom models colors from Fender while asking 600€ for it o_O’ Jeeezzz, those people have no imagination and they really had quite a long Covid time to think about it… It’s a pass for me.
