@ambergamlin1803 , actually, your ignorance is astounding. You didn't understand my comment and decided to talk crap to me? To help you understand because you're inept, I was referring to the video that the kid posted and was so negative about Jakob singing music his dad had written and sampled tracks in the early 90s that was never released. So, as the kid kept talking very negatively, none stop, he showed how he didn't have enough knowledge about Sublime's history. So when you left your comment on how he was hatting on it ... I was agreeing with you. Don't be a little Richard 🍆

After Brad died I followed the remaining members as they kept the music alive, through Long Beach Dub All Stars, Long Beach Short Bus, and finally Sublime with Rome where it was fading from its roots. The addition of Jakob has revived Sublime, you can see the energy renewed in Eric and Bud. I am excited for their future.

It’s an unfinished song pre 1992. The sound is obvious when the lyrics were recorded. It’s either an incomplete track that was for 40 oz or a rip off of that sound because the self titled album dropped all the effects and stuff they used live. This track says “I’m in the studio” well if it’s an original track you’d easily recognize the difference between 40 oz and Sublime studio tracks. Go listen to any of Brads vocals between the 2 albums it’s obvious. Or live versions of songs in 95 before Sublime drops. We never got to hear live versions of the self titled album songs which are way cleaner without echo and fades like the early songs. Obvious folks.

The thing that bothered me (and other fans) is the dog situation, Stick Figure was considered a Sublime "rip off" band when they went on tour with their dog. The reggae sounds and the dog had the actual fans booing them off the stage, which I felt was pretty harsh, but the fact he tried it sorta sucks. I'm not sure why but fans claim it's why they moved to Santa Cruz, but anyways I've heard of 'Stick Figure' because my friends all talked about it. I have mixed emotions about the song, the tile and didn't think Stick Figure should put his name on it, if anything just put "featuring Stick Figure" on it, just like how all artists do it.

Listen to 40oz... at least half of it is in line with this sound. I don't think they're looking to sound exactly like Bradley's Sublime....even his sound evovled. You can hear how they're using a mix of influence across their catalog - Cisco kid kicks the dubbing and the drum hard (and no, I'm not saying they sound the same - I'm saying you can hear the influence). Opinions are always good though - keep sharing.

you keep approaching this as a Sublime song and express criticism on how this sounds more like a "Stick Figure" song -- while not acknowledging that not only is Jakob not his father, Stick Figure is not Sublime; my dude, the song is definitely going to be different. Wait till an actual Sublime song (with Jakob) comes out and then tell us what you think, if you are going to analyze "Sublime" with this type of lens you did here. Also, personally/subjectively speaking, I don't want Jakob to be a Bradley clone -- because he is his own person. However, he IS the remnant of his father and thus innately has the 'truth' in him and it rings out in certain notes as it should -- just like when you couldn't tell the difference between the two at times. Anyways, he's going to be different overall but there will be times when you go "whoa, that sounded like the old Sublime" is my prediction. Imma revisit your channel when you do another review when their songs drop and see what you have to say, then.
