I use baby powder (talcum) inside the tire (spread with your fingers) and on all my tubes (also old ones in stock). It prevents the rubber from sticking and drying.

I've never done that myself but I've seen it

HOLY COW!!! That idea seems clever =O I have got few flat tires due to the chamber's rubber sticks on the tire after a good while! As I am just changing the tires, I will try your technic =D

Thumbs up for the seafoam green patio chair in the background. A matte, seafoam green bike....🤔

10:40 yeah that pad had life left but you could see its so dried out that it glazed. Cant make friction with glass on metal, youll really notice the grippy hydrated rubber adding stopping power

You can use sandpaper to clean up the surface of your brake pads to clean them up and stop squealing.

That did actually cross my mind, but then I thought maybe better for me to just get a new set rather than messing with it.

I've only seen valve stems getting twisted from low tire pressure. You can also try a set of tubes with a threaded steel valve stem and nut which will hold it in place much better.

hey ABH! yeah maybe they twisted that way then, I did ride on the front when it was a bit low I remember once.

I've only run into schrader valve shifting like that when running too low of a pressure. On the super budget tire front I'm a big fan of Kujo on Amazon. They are definitely not supple, but great for tubed city/gravel.

Regarding the tilted valve stem, deflate the tire, massage it around and let it sit for a bit. I came upon this accidentally myself recently and was surprised that it straightened up when I wasn't looking. Good luck

interesting, guess it sort of works itself back into place?

I think it's the centrifugal force the tire and tube which causes the tube to slip and snap. I've done it a lot on my Nishiki Alien with Kenda slick street tires. I used electrical tape instead of a spoke protector to help stop the rotations.

Hmm could be both, tire pushed outward, then sudden braking

Tire width may vary depending on rim width. Maybe your rim is narrower than the one the tire was designed for.

That kenda sb8 seems to be a Tomac version, those are high end tires and in solid condition, you seem to have downgraded
