Hi We don't have a motorhome yet, but we are looking at all the different types and thinking about what we need from our Moho. I've watched lots of your videos, including all the new to motorhomes. They are brilliant, I've learned so much, thank you. I am looking forward to being able to have our Moho, and I'll definitely keep watching. Give Poppy a big fuss from me. Morag

Thanks Bob. Great info. Nearly choked on my coffee when I saw you in that big coat and hat. Very funny. I bet Jenny enjoyed filming that. I’m planning to do some winter travelling and I am very new to all this. Great to get some advice from a pro. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻

Some great tips there Bob. We have to keep our van in storage and last year due to Covid restrictions we SORN it 'Off Road'. Just remember to re-Tax it when you next go out. We forgot to do so until we were halfway to Lincolnshire. All was Okay but thank goodness for modern phones and internet. We Taxed 'Pippin' in a layby near Lincoln !!!

Our Swift Bessacarr 599 came with an automatic gas bottle change over valve and both bottle pigtails had the crash protection valves already fitted. I’ve changed both bottles over to Gasit refillable ones, that way I can “top up” the gas to maintain a full gas supply at all times. Not only is it considerably cheaper for the gas but it means no going off with half a bottle hoping it’ll last. Most Morrison fuel stations are good for LPG. I didn’t realise you could travel with the Alde heating system on, great tip, I’ll do that. The vehicle heater is only designed to keep the cab of a van warm, not the volume of a whole motorhome. I must get one of those insulated windscreen covers, I can see the benefits. Thanks for the tips.

Lots of good tips Bob 🍻 ... We’ve been vanning for a few years now but can remember lots of the mistakes we made in the early years. These days I’m retired but my partner still has a short time to go, although plans are in the making ready for that day. Our first major trip will be an extended tour of Scotland and the islands, so preparations are in hand. We do try and use the van all year round just to keep the wheels turning but eventually we will be out a lot more. It’s your videos that not only keep us up to date with new and interesting places to visit, but also the useful tips and those things to avoid especially when our all season trips occur much more frequently ... Keep up the good work 👍🍻

@@BobEarnshawMoHo I’ve got an ex work colleague friend who moved permanently up to Stornaway. However twice a year they make the lengthy trip back down to Lincolnshire so we can have a catch up.... I was a bit shocked at first but when I hear about the life they now live and of course the offer of a park up next to their Croft makes it very appealing. By the way when I asked you about the Hero Max Camera yesterday, it was in preparation for that eventful trip 🍻

Thanks for the reminders and good advice! :-) One thing I would say, I NEVER EVER scrape frost off my windscreen!! Too easy to scratch the screen if any grit on the glass or scraper! I have done it, stupidly, years ago when I was in a hurry, I'd sooner let the Heater do the job if I run out of deicer! Allow a bit more time, therefore just in case!

We caravan all year round, totally agree , keep the wheels turning, good for the van and good for you. Also, it's a lot of money to just sit on the drive. One last thing, would love to learn to play Rummikub, so if we see you on site, be warned. LOL

Yes, you should have been sent two 'pockets' with strong magnets inside and a velcro patch, to help attach to the middle of the door. There should also be two velcro patches with straps to attach at the front, to help in windy weather.

Sound advice once again, thanks Bob. How do you keep Poppy warm at night while in your motor home, my Coco was rather cool last week in our camper van even though I had the heating on low. She sleeps on my bed but won’t go under the covers.
@BobEarnshawMoHo

We keep the heating 18 degrees, she does sometimes sneak underneath the covers though, I think just for a cuddle because she usually gets too warm after 10 mins!

Snow chains, snow socks? I would only recommend or use these in an Emergency situation. We don't really see the types of heavy snow falls in UK, even in the Highlands of Scotland to justify usage! Going to Europe in the Winter and in the Alps region, you might! The laws in the Alp countries, requires you to change your Summer Tyres to All Season or Winter (Have a snow symbol on the side of the Tyre), not just snow chains or socks. I always advise, if winter camping in UK or Europe, a minimum of All Season Tyres of expensive quality, or as I do, Winter Tyres of expensive quality. Your life and safety are ALWAYS worth the cost. To think otherwise is the equivalent of driving with no vehicle brakes and who would do that, nobody, I would hope! Remember, Tyres are the ONLY thing that connects Camper to the road and Winter Tyres outperform all other Tyres, from +7 degrees and below, be it rain, frost, slush, ice or snow. All Season Tyres, saves changing Tyres 2x yearly between Summer and Winter. This means All Season Tyres are financially cheaper and are more than adequate in UK Winters with modern Tyre technology, even in the Highlands of Scotland, that will get you out of any trouble in all Winter weathers, even in a good snow fall that brings the UK traffic to a halt. Sadly, if people go winter camping, they put cost concern over safety and life concern far too often, regarding Tyres. I see so many accidents in the Highlands of Scotland during winter months involving campers because of this choice. Defies simple logic! Winter Camping = The 6x P's = Prior Planning Preparation Prevents Poor Performance Thanks for the video.
