Almost guarantee it isn't directly based on any particular future model and just a parts bin test mule for testing various components like future Street Triple engines/tunes, beta dash software, ergonomics, etc. They just need a working bike based on the platform that will accept R&D components.

Another great podcast boys. As soon as You said Moto Guzzi and California my ears popped up. Only because I own a Moto Guzzi California Audace 1400 that Tim had the pleasure of riding but not to parking lol. Ps if You want to have a go Rob give us a shout and it could be Your bike of the week cause we'll last time I checked there are only 18 left on the road according to the internet. V100 California sounds good as long as the weight will be less than my 1400 I'm all in. Moto Guzzi Stornello would be more fun as a version of the V85TT with more suspension travel and 21inch wheel single clock and headlight. Something like a Ducati Desert Sled. Less weight more back to basics do it all bike. If You Google Stornello 850 you can find some really cool renderings of what that bike would look like. I used to own a lovely yellow Triumph Daytona 955i from 2006. That sadly got nicked in south London. But I think what Triumph needs to do is to build a new version of Tiger Sport 1200. With the engine from the speed triple single side swing arm 17 inch wheels electric suspension and modern electronics to go against BMW S1000XR and Suzuki GSX1000GX as well as KTM super duke GT. Cause what people want is a comfortable road rocket. And the 1160 tripe engine is a peach but it just needs a chassis and frame that would get people buzzing again. Cause spending 18K+ pounds on a bike is not an issue for some people but they want to have more usability from that bike like a bigger tank for better range when touring better two up accommodation and a stonking engine with epick sound that puts a smile on Your face every time you twist the throttle! The old Tiger Sport 1050 is a cool bike but lacks a lot of technology compared to the new road focus sporty crossover motorcycles so a new version would probably sell better than the Speed RR and RS combined.

Interesting vid. Surely it's a Tiger Sport 765 isn't it? Unlikely it's a new ST, or an RS with those bars. The latest 1050 Guzzi engine could easily be used in a new Audace.

Street triple finally moving away from that weird mantis headlight. Brilliant! jk I don't think any of this is final. They just need to test geometry and gather data. I would imagine nothing here makes it into the final product.

Absolutely love my trident, but having just done a motorway journey today I get what you’re saying. I opted to take the long way home on the return journey which was much more enjoyable. I have the puig screen which helped a fair bit but I don’t love the looks of it. Was going to take the Daytona for a spin out while my bike was at the dealer but I was a bit fatigued after the motorway section. I will upgrade at some point but not for the foreseeable future.

Agree, had a Trident and never loved motorways on it. I didn't have a screen. I don't think wind protection on the Daytona is any better protection wise.

Interesting review, on the Moto Guzzi front, using Guzzi's back catalogue as a reference a new California would take its inspiration from the original 850 T3 California with its touring screen and factory panniers (a seriously good looking machine) and use the existing V7 850 engine , they could however up the capacity and install the new V100 motor which in my opinion would be the perfect engine for a new California, if they launched this version I'd be at the front of the queue to buy one.

Never liked the exhaust on the last Stornello, thought it was too long, as well as too kinky. As to which model they will revive, I think the Stornello is more likely - easier to do from current range, and greater sales potential.

From what I've seen in reviews for the Speed Triple the biggest complaint is about the clip-ons. It wouldn't surprise me if they made a faired version of the Striple without clip-ons. Maybe it'll have slightly lower risers or even flat bars but it seems like a pretty smart idea to release a special edition RS with a semi fairing that comes equipped with some of those creature comforts like cruise control and heated grips.

I think mentioning the lack of sales of the Speed Trip isn't as big a factor. So many people skipped it due to how well the 765 performs and you get honestly not a crazy amount for going 1050 etc. The 1200RR felt like too much IMO and too much a cost stretch whereas everyone loves the 765 engine already at 130hp. I think a 765cc which would be under the 765 Moto 2 price people would jump onto it over the RS.

The V100 seems to be a success for Moto Guzzi, and with the pressure from the environmentalists I predict that future Moto Guzzi’s will be launched with the V100’s power train perhaps in a larger engine displacement. A new California would be very cool!

Hey, loved the recent Urban Rider gear shots of Tim's black Ducati Monster. The Monsters definitely lost their iconic look when they went to that weird, melted/sloped headlight in the late 2000's. What model/year is Tim's? I briefly owned an M750 Dark back in the day and I dream of replacing it to this day!

VINDICATION! Fortnine recently dropped a video outlining the broken EPA rule responsible for the XL750 Transalp (90.5 - 83 HP) and ZX-4R (76/79 - 56 HP) detuning issue in the States. So sad that we have to deal with this obvious broken test in 2024, but then we still get terrible halogen turn signals while the rest of the world gets LEDs... 🤷♂️

Its not a striple the seating position is a trident sit up naked position a striple the seat is further back and you lean forward more. This is to confirm the framing on a new engine and peg and handle bar triangle. and all the other things are just random bits to make it work. I wouldn’t think anything of the lights and swing arm, they are just adjustable engineering tools. To me this says new trident engine or a bigger trident. Its just not lean forward enough for a striple. Unless they are making a striple thats much more upright as thats the reason i dont have one, the superbike ergos kill me.
