Thanks for the video. I have bought one and really liked it.The only issue is volume of the buzzer, is it loud enough cause the unit i receive is barely audible. Is there volume setting you can change for the buzzer ?
@ramschannelreviews
Ай бұрын
I appreciate your comments. Just now I tested the continuity buzzer of my unit. It was indeed not as loud as my Hioki DMMs, but the same in volume as my Fluke 107, in my ears. The Fluke 107 though has a higher pitch, while the UT15B Max has a bit lower pitch. Perhaps that may have caused the impression of a barely audible sound. Unfortunately there isn't a way to increase the volume.

I was originally considering the UT60S. But since I saw your review on the UT15B Max, I'm am seriously considering this one or the UT17B Max for the temperature function. The UT60S does have the NCV function added to it (which the UT15/17/18 Max does not) but I don't need the NCV function that much. Thanks man. Mabuhay, Thank you for this review and stay safe! 👍

Thanks for your comments. I don't know if you've come across them but the design of the UT15BMax and UT17BMax resembled a lot like the design of the Fluke DMMs bearing the same model name. The UT15BMAX wasn't cheap (I think the UT60S is cheaper) but it was worth it. The UT17B Max should be even better for not much more money. I prefer a separate NCV stick over the one embedded in a DMM. Safe testing sir!

@@ramschannelreviews Oh I forgot to ask this. Since you have the UT191T PRO too, which is better in terms of performance, robustness and input protection? I just checked the price of the UT191T PRO and it's cheaper than the UT15B Max as of today.
@ramschannelreviews
4 ай бұрын
@@therealdaniboi The UT191T Pro is a good DMM. In fact it is the one sitting in my work shelf ready to use anytime. Rugged and its battery and fuses are easily accessible. However, I think the new, safety features that UNI-T embedded into the design of the UT15B Max justified its higher price. Those two, high speed input fuse protection aren't cheap, wrong input connection warning, two sets of test leads, rugged build as well, uses the more common AA battery instead of the 9V used in the 191T Pro, with adjustable backlight. The only thing I didn't like about the 15B Max, is that if you need to change the fuse, it's more a hassle than the UT191T Pro. But if you don't need those, the 191T Pro should be a good, lower cost alternative.

@@ramschannelreviews Thank you again. I'll update this comment of mine once I made my decision on what I'll end up buying. EDIT: I made the decision about 5 days ago and I went with the UT17B Max which arrived today. Honestly I was surprised on how solidly built this multimeter is. And it measures faster than my old Sanwa CD771. I am super satisfied with this meter and I will be placing this on my work table.

What brand name of rechargeable 9 volts battery you are using in your old UT191T ?
@ramschannelreviews

@@playstation2bigs I don't have rechargeable 9V. I am using non-rechargeable Energizer Lithium 9V battery for my UT191T, as well as my Fluke 116.

@@ramschannelreviews ohhh does it last longer? How many months before it die ?
@ramschannelreviews

@@playstation2bigs I can't mention a definite time, but these 9V Lithiums last much much longer than 9V alkaline batteries I used before. I have yet to replace any of them in my DMMs. My UT191T is a battery hogger but it's still on its first 9V Lithium battery. Granted, my test equipment sees light use only nowadays.

TRUE-RMS but till what frequency ? Can it measure (duty cycle) of SMPS that works at 150KHz + (not the hiest frequency). What is the price ? In comparison to UT-139 how is behaved ? Is it costlier ?
@ramschannelreviews

I appreciate your questions but I'm not sure if this answers them. According to it's online users manual (I got the Chinese language printed manual) it's frequency response for AC voltage is, sine wave 40Hz- 500Hz; non-sine wave 40Hz- 200Hz. Rated frequency 10Hz- 10MHz. I suggest you download the English users manual for duty cycle and other details you might need. meters.uni-trend.com/product/ut15b-17b-18b-max/#Docs Price depends on where you buy it. From a local online Philippines seller it's the equivalent of around U$70 after promo discounts, amazon price was higher. It's way better than UT139C, but bulkier.

@@ramschannelreviews Just 200Hz for PWM signals ? Not worth the many. Anybody can buy a small single or dual channel oscilloscope for that many. ANYWAY, thanks for your answer

@@gamiwv You're welcome. I don't know if this means anything to you but the user's manual mentioned that duty cycle for square wave is up to 1kHz. An oscilloscope would be great, but unfortunately, I don't have one at this time. Thanks for your comments.

ut15b max or ut61e+ which model is better?
@ramschannelreviews
7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. I have no UT16E+ so I can't make an objective comparison. But before I purchased the UT15B Max, there's quite a number of reviews for the UT16E+ that I've also read. In the end, I picked the 15B Max. Partly, because I already have the UT191T. But mostly because it's newly released and I was impressed with the usability and safety features of the 15BMax. It's a solidly built DMM. High quality fit and finish. I'd choose it again given the choice. That's just my subjective view. Your particular use case should tell you which of them would be more suitable for your purpose.

I agree. It's quite a hassle though access the fuse of the UT15B Max. I'm not sure but maybe it's an added safety feature, to seal the back in this manner? Other than that, the workmanship on it was impressive. I thought it was expensive for a UNI-T DMM but when you use it, it's quite a solid multimeter worth its asking price.
