I don't see that being a problem unless you scratch the reel in that specific area which seems difficult, then may cause abrasion and fray your line.

Do VRs have that issue too?
@racerdude7149
Poor design.. unfinished design really… seams like they just had to put something new out
@tango-bravo
That’s why I buy vintage Penns and Mitchell’s for a fraction of the cost and don’t worry about all this fancy new stuff- as they say with cars and motorcycles “chrome don’t get ya home”

It looks like you got too much line on there that’s probably why. U supposed to leave 1/4 inch
@Southern_Taurus_
I mean I’ve seen my buddy set hook on a tarpon and it broke right at the reel. You can say whatever you want but it doesn’t matter to those who actually have seen it happen.
@henryearlevans
No big deal. Get your reel to any VS Service Center and have it upgraded to the new rotor for free.
@georgedixon8105
Buy a Stella instead 🤣

@allgood6535

@j.d.leslie8458
Buy a VISSER
@raymondjones6024
Its due to the size diameter of the line rolller the Penn Torques roller is smaller that changes the line angle and i bought a VSX 200 when i heard about the new designed that always has to work the bugs out.
@Lie4x
