Good job bus driver for getting those kids off safely and away from the bus……I am a 4 year bus driver thank you for that comment and also some parents don’t really know what it takes to be a bus drive some people think it’s just you drive the bus you take the kids to school you pick them up from school you take them home there’s a lot more involved in driving school bus maybe that’s why there is hardly any drivers and all the schools are looking for drivers

Also should be on for 40 hours a week. Most of the bus drivers in my district are part timers without full benefits.
@danlenox1430
2 жыл бұрын
@@jdtractorman7445 Some districts get "full time" benefits.. just depends on how the district/union do things. My district offers full benefits if you have 19+ hours a week, which thanks to the driver shortage and our union negotiations, most drivers have 20+.. others aren't so fortunate, and have to have a dedicated route and so much time in before being offered benefits. There are several districts in my state are looking at making drivers salaried for 30+/- hours due to the fact that they realize its a part-time job, with a full-time time commitment. Then you have the bus companies that do whatever the hell they want, and change things on the fly..

It might not even smell like smoke, though. I was playing drums at a gig and their basement floods just enough to wet the carpet but not get squishy and nobody told us. Gear started to short out. The guitar player/sound guy used to be my teacher. He said, here, get down by this speaker, now inhale deeply. It definitely did not smell like smoke. A combination of wiring and some extremely toxic chemical smell...which is almost comical, as all that old gear is loaded with toxic things that don't catch fire that easily
@grayskindablue

@@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823 Electrical wiring definitely is different in terms of how heavily chemical laden it is. I think most people would realise it’s some type of smoke just based on all smoke feeling similarly hot/making you start to choke in a similar way. But yeah people should be aware of what kinds of scents to not even take a chance with in a vehicle. Also your sound guy had you inhale deeply next to a speaker that was shorting out? Yes. Bus drivers are taught that in case of an emergency to do an emergency stop and depending on the emergency determines the action you take. However, in case of a fire we are taught which exit we are to evacuate the students or passengers through depending on where the fire is after performing an emergency stop. If the fire or smoke is located at the front of the bus, we are to evacuate them using the rear emergency exit door. If the fire or smoke is located at the rear of the bus, we are to evacuate them using the front doors
