I have just bought my first wing foil kit (currently a windsurfer with some windsurf foiling). I have been watching all your other videos in preparation and watching this I can't wait to see more (and hopefully one day be out enjoying the water with as much excitment as you guys are having)

Love your channel… just started learning to foil. Started behind our boat and trying to figure out the wing and swells…. Not going well… If you want to come down to Sanibel and help a couple of 55 year olds figure this out and start to enjoy our best lives we would love to host you…. Thanks again for all the videos.. you guys make it look so easy!

Hey there. Loving the vibe from you guys! Some tips on transitioning from foiling using the wind to foiling using just the swell would be great. Is it best to carve onto a wave or wait for one to catch you up, easiest heel side or toe side, should you fully commit to the leading edge handle or stay on the front hand handle early doors, etc. 😎

I need input on direction towards the wind. I mean how to feel, correct and move the board and the wing relative to the wind, and especially when the wind goes up and down in gusts. I lose power in my wing when getting up on the foil. I then go too high to avoid that, and lose power again. I know it is a matter of getting hte feel of it, but what is it I am supposed to do in various situations? hold the wing high, turn it to point 90 center-strut-horisontal, pull in the back hand, pull in both? and btw - love this channel and you guys.

That's fantastic, I'm looking forward to jumping onboard! I've loved all your content so far and it has helped me get from complete beginner to a happy straight liner! I do have one question regarding my current (basic riding) level; There I am, cruzing along, minding my own business, soaking in the sun (or rain - I'm from the UK!) just enjoying the flight - then WHAM! out of nowhere, no warning, no sudden movements from myself, the front end has just dropped straight off the edge of a cliff! Its happened quite a few times, I'm pretty sure there's been no front foil cavitation, it happens in super flat water just the same as in chop and I've even had it with two different foils set ups from different companies... The only person I can point the finger at is the guy in the mirror!. Its not getting me down, I still love the ride and every splat still makes me laugh but please guys, can either of you legends tell me where I'm going wrong? Cheers Frano

Sounds like you may just be coming up to high on foil and the wing breaks the surface of the water! Could that be it?

@@DamienLeroyKZitem it doesn't quite feel like the foil has popped out - Maybe its a very gentle increase in altitude and I just need to ride a tiny bit more bow down. Thanks for getting back to me though. Really looking forward to your new series 🙏

@@franotregaskis8661 Keep us posted would love to hear if you learn what it is. Sounds to me like some kind of cavitation. They drop fast when they pierce the water! Have a great weekend.

Looking forward to the videos! Exactly where do you film them? I visited FL from CA over Christmas and the day I was at Jupiter there was zero wind so nobody was on the water. Do you usually launch from Access Ladder 38? Ladder 33? It looks like the Ocean Club Jupiter Condominium is to the north in most of your videos. Thanks!

Wondering if you can spend some time focusing on positioning of feet. I wonder if I’m at a disadvantage because my feet are offset with my front foot to windward and my back foot to leeward. I seem to be struggling with riding toe side and jibing and wonder if that’s related to the positioning of my feet. Should I break that offset habit in order to progress? Or do you have advice for how to deal with riding with offset feet? I went out today on my land board and hit pretty much every jibe. On my land board my feet are right over top of the centerline because the board is so skinny. Thanks
@DamienLeroyYouTube
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Greg! Well honestly off set is ok but never hurts to move the feet around. Center is always stable but prepping your feet for saying going toe side is not a bad thing. I adjust my feet riding heal side to toeside right before I go topside so I am on the right side of the board. It helps or you will be a little off balance on the board when you make the turn. Give it a shot. Same goes for heal side. If anything try to be center before you turn!

question: For no wind days! what can be done to improve foiling skills with a 5'7' and a SUP foil and a paddle.?

An efoil would be ideal! Truthfully any foiling always can help, behind a boat, SUP, it all helps.

This is perfect timing. I just started foiling and I need all the tips I can get. My suggestion is to do less selfie shooting. We can't properly see what you are trying to show us if the camera is attached to you. You need a dedicated camera person.
