If the recent price leaks for somewhat similar Zen 5 CPUs are anything to go by, the Strix Point will be in $1500-$2500 laptops and the Strix Halo will be in $2500-$3500 laptops. These APUs won't be inexpensive enough to be in budget PCs or competively-priced mini PCs, so I don't think the Strix Halo will "destroy" the GPU market at all.

@@chriswright8074 : Official AMD documents for the Strix Point and Halo were leaked last month, and based on the specs in those documents and the specs of the Zen 5 CPUs that prices were leaked for by retailers earlier this week, the Strix Point and (especially) Halo APUs will be a lot more expensive than people are hoping for.

Few things. 1. Strix Halo will not be $2500+ unless it has dedicated graphics or is enterprise/workstation ready. By Q1 2025, you’ll see sub $1299 entry level 16GB models. $2500+ is reserved for workstations with 64-128GB DDR5. 2. This is the first APU that is competitive with M3 Pro Max or w.e the hell they call it. With 64GB of ram, you’ll be able to run some of the beefiest LLM models out there and possibly train models on a laptop. Even at $3000 for 128GB of RAM, it’s better value than Apple Silicon. 3. It outperforms last gen desktop. Even if performance is +/- 20%, it’s still generational.

That 4070 is the type of card that people actually want. We don't want our computers to be the size of a house to fit hude radiators and graphics cards the size of a train. It saves space, money, easier maintenance and working around, no support bracket, etc. If only nvidia would make their gaming cards as efficient as their professional cards we all would be running silent cards which are no bigger than 2 slots with humongous power while barely generating heat and using energy.

AMD and Intel can have an ARM chip extension in the form of a GPU with the soldered ARM chip on the mother board. They can have both AMD and Intel GPUs working with one another no matter which one is the CPU or the GPU, but none the less, FSR and XeSS 2.0 can run simultaneously like seen with FSR 3.1 and DLSS 3.5. Intel and AMD can secure the mother board, memory, software and partnering chips and making themselves even less a monopoly giving a larger variety of hardware to work with at multiple different prices low and high.
