I wonder which is more impressive to watch, NYAR Switching at astro ready mix(Here) With it's steep grade, Or Watch em switch over at US Container in wyandanch where the Geeps Plow bottoms out on the street pavement coming off the mainline? Hmmm

Bottoming out for sure.Especially if it gets stuck and the wheels turn 3 inches off the rail and the engine just sits there.🤣🤣🤣

@@ronr9430 LIRR purchased a number of them a number of years ago and transfered to NYA when the LIRR sold the freight operations were sold to the Anacosta rail Holdings.They're still in use today if I heard right.Anyone please let us know.

@@danbytp also strange was that the former Long Island Railroad Gp38 and MP15ACs kept their original cab numbers. I remember when those locomotives wore LIRR colors (I kind of miss them) but what I would like to know is how an EMD MP15AC became an RS40?ALCo had RS series locomotives and they looked nothing like what I saw in this video.
@danbytp

@@ronr9430 Yes,they kept the same numbers,easier than going through the paperwork hassle with the government,like a car keeping the same license plate by the new owner.I believe the RS40 is an upgraded MP15 with a new engine,transmission,and maybe new trucks.Don't quote me on it,it's been a while since I read about it.It wouldn't suprise me being the MP15's were quite old and worn when the NYA got them.Part of the reason why LIRR got rid of the freight ops,basically for cost savings of money the MTA didn't have and couldn't get.
