Driving is like the best thing ever. Kills time, explore new sights, hear sounds, get nice air onto your face when driving.

@@TheCentennial4 "Kills time": possible on each kind of pub. transit "Explore new sights": possible on trains or tour buses "Get nice air onto your face while driving": possible on trains (you can lean out of the window sometimes) Get stuck in a driving jam: possible on cars, but impossible on trains Die in an accident: possible in cars and trains either but chance is way lower in trains Air pollution: way bigger on cars (especially on pickup trucks) Danger for pedestrians: way bigger on cars Number of passangers that can be carried: not more than 6 on cars, around 60 on buses, 200-300 on trams and thousand or even more on trains. Is driving actually best thing ever?

I lived in the Bay Ridge Towers until 1989. Sold everything and bought a small ranch in Montana. Believe me I don’t miss the stressful life and driving. It gave me PTSD. However I do miss the food.

When I was a kid, I remember seeing all of this while my mom drove us home after visiting family in the city. So watching this, brought me so much comfort now that I live in San Diego and miss home a lot. Thank you for this!

As an urbanist, I'm thrilled about the Brooklyn Heights Promenade at 41:31. It's a great idea to create a cantilever over the road to extend a walking area above it, while also hiding a significant part of the noise from the road. Bravo!

The one time I had an opportunity to drive the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, with the view of the pre September 11 skyline ....and I accidentally took the lower deck. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ..

Awesome video, great stuff, thanks for the effort in making this, looks like a beautiful day. I live on Perth Western Australia and will be coming to New York Sept/October 2024. I’ve been to the States a few times but never been to NYC before so really excited to see it all. That first big view of the Manhattan skyline, wow! Not a bad place to be stuck in traffic. @@phillipbanes5484 I have family and 100s of friends that have lived their whole life there and I’ve been 29 States of the U.S.A and thousands of times people called it The States. So that’s where I got it from 😊. Yeah I’m really planning carefully everything. I am a tour guide as an occupation and have independently travelled a lot so using that experience also, and yes that’s a bad trap trying to do too much but appreciate the advice. Thanks heaps

Keen to get back to the US too, I am fond of it. I hear Americans saying "Stateside" I can use it with my American friends. We have states in Australia but when you hear stateside, that's the USA.

When you come here, don't limit yourself to Manhattan. There are lots of great neighborhoods that you can explore in Brooklyn and Queens. As far as Manhattan is concerned, Harlem is interesting too.

Start at Home Avenue (where you wouldn't believe the prices of homes), take a right on Fingerboard Road, go to first light (there's a deli on the right), then take a left on Tompkins Avenue, then follow the signs.
2:54 - Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. Completed 1964, central span 4,260 ft., longest in the world until surpassed by the Humber Br. (G.Br) 1981.

I've been to NYC many times for shows and to visit friends. I can't make it there as often as I would like to, and these videos give me the sights and sounds that are the pulse of the city. Thanks for posting.

NYC was the area I had to do in my first commercial truck 🚚 job. Delivery of frozen foods to various stores in the boroughs of NYC. Literally right from the frying pan to the fire 🔥 😊

I'm amazed....it took you less than 5 mins to get to Brooklyn over the Verrazzano Narrows bridge. That includes starting out on a street in Staten Island.

That was fun. The nice parts of staten island are NOT by the Vz bridge, it's way out by Tottenville and that area. The Gowanus expressway please, LOL -- will it ever improve? They've only been working on it for 40 years..... that i know of. Maybe longer.

Some of us it was a requirement of our jobs. Delivered frozen foods to the grocery stores in the five boroughs of NYC so had no choice but to be there 😮😊
