Though New Zealand can come in a high price tag, it is such an amazing place -- the raw nature is well-preserved, the food is delicious and clean, and the accommodations are superb.

Another great video, informative as always. A few points - NZ is a perfect roadtrip country because it has such a beautiful landscape, and so diverse too. Coming from Australia, I find costs between the countries extremely similar, with the only notable difference was we found petrol to be $2.50 per litre on average, more expensive than in Oz. I agree with the food pricing - again very similar, but when you spend more, you of course get better quality, but also not forgetting that you can guarantee that quality is going to be there (low risk of failure). Cheers from Adelaide!

I came to NZ for about a month in November 2018 and did a road trip with Haka Tours because it was my first solo trip and that seemed like a good way to do it (and it was even better than I hoped) but being from the UK and having watched videos and read so many blog posts, mainly from Americans, about how expensive it would be I was pleasantly surprised and really didn't think it was that expensive at all. Hi Dane and Stacey. Thank you for your wonderful nz video. They have be incredibly informative. However we attempted to recreate your experience (2 weeks in the north and four weeks in the south) however the cheapest we could cost this 6 week trip was at least $4000 more. The Maui for example in October November 2022 was $800.- $10000I understand you were travelling in the Winter but even the costs we well over $6000. As Aussies we needed to add 2300 for our airfares so doing it once and doing it well could cost between 12000 and $20000. Would love to heR your thoughts

Hey! Wow, yeah those prices have lifted quite a bit, that's a shame. Have a look at GoSee Travel for a few more options, and don't feel like you need to go with Maui only. @@savingrob Good question, will they let you in, if they did you would have to quarantine and that would take up most of your holiday and August is just around the corner, I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya 🤞

You forgot to say how much hokey pokey ice cream costs (lol). There are unique foods in NZ like the venison- not the same as any elk or deer in the USA.

Do you think it would be worth it to do a South Island trip in winter? I mean would I still be able to see the mountains surrounding Queenstown etc or will it be blocked out by cloud and fog? Will I be able to get out and go on walks and see the scenery or will it be freezing cold and hammering down rain every day?

Greetings from Jakarta. I just say WOW.. with the same price for a chicken, we got 7 kg here. I wonder, how much the regular workers in formal industry earn per month approximately
Still bummed that I did hit get to visit NZ this year because of COVID-19. I've found it reasonable to have a good time visiting NZ.

Are there any cities good for folks who are working online? (I'm guessing wilder western side is hard since internet is not as abundant there?)
@DanegerAndStacey
3 жыл бұрын
You generally won't have trouble with internet in big cities but to be honest, NZ isn't really set up for remote work in the same way as places like Chiang Mai, Canggu etc. There are a few co-working places in Auckland but we haven't personally been to any. It might be worth looking into where the big universities are as you'll find more laptop friendly cafes etc
