I moved to London (from San Diego) in summer '64. I would receive a monthly "care package" from mom and dad until I moved to NYC in 1978. Your gift opening videos take me back to those days of anticipation and joy. I always tell people, certain KZitem channels aren't popular because of the content. It's the people and their personalities that make them fun. Anybody can react to a video, open a box, cook a meal, etc. But only the most genuine of people draw us in. And, Your New Zealand Family certainly does that. Cheers from Florida.

As a kid in America we ALWAYS loved seeing those Nilla wafer cookies in the bag when Mom came home from the store because it meant that she would be making Banana Pudding. That’s actually the only way we ate them but they are perfect in the pudding, so if you get the chance you should try it, I truly think you will change your mind about them after you do. ☺️ Love your show!

If you are talking about the school lunch snacks that come in plastic with crackers/bread sticks on one side and soft cheese on the other to dip into, over here they are called Handi-Snacks. Until recently the cracker ones came with a red plastic spreader to spread the cheese on the cracker. Over here even Oreo has one with a chocolate biscuit you dip into the white Oreo cream. There are quite a few makers of spray cheese so depending on exact recipe the taste varies for the same type. Example is that some brands Sharp Cheddar flavor tastes nasty while others Sharp Cheddar flavors are awesome. If you get sent some in future that you don't like don't give up on the product, just keep in mind someone may send you a different brand or flavor. I find the best way to do Spray Cheese is on plain Ritz Crackers You can also pair them with different ingredients to make hors d'oeuvres (Salami, pepperoni, ham etc cut to size)

I remember dept 56 very well. My mom had so many of the New England Village pieces when I was growing up! Several limited pieces, the whole original set, accessories, etc. Our upstairs living room (we had a split level with a den in the basement) was covered with the entire fake town set on the batting cloth under a Christmas tree. I had to set it up and tear it down for a decade. Hiding the wires is the worst part. Glad to see she liked it.

My mother in law had a Christmas village that she added a new piece to every year. She had a school, church, store, stable, train station and train (that circled the whole village) assorted houses and an ice skating rink. The kids always were excited to see what grandma would get new each year. The bottle caps are flavored like sodas and I have always felt if I didn’t like the flavor of the soda I wouldn’t like the flavor of the bottle cap either. They are definitely a personal preference type of thing.

From 2001 until 2007 I was homeless and jobless. I wandered around the US and stayed in halfway houses and church based homeless shelters. I always had my own food because I got food stamps in every state I stayed in for more than 30 days. I carried everything I owned in 2 canvas luggage bags. My main stay survival food for 6 years, when I was not being fed by a church group or other organization was large flour tortillas, canned tuna and squirt cheese. I thought I would tell you about my homelessness only to let you know that I lived almost exclusively on that squirt cheese you will be showing in the video. I loved the sharp cheddar and also the American cheese. It is also great on crackers. (saltines)

Fun fact: The Mall of America was built on the site of the former Metropolitan Stadium which was once the home of the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. They both moved to the then newly constructed H.H.H. Metrodome in the early 80’s. The Twins moved into their new stadium, Target Field, in 2010 and the Vikings moved into US Bank stadium in 2016. US Bank stadium was in the video you guys did about the Top 5 new stadiums in the NFL. It was built where their old stadium, the Metrodome, stood. The Viking played at TCF Bank stadium, the home of the college football team, for 2 seasons while US Bank stadium was being constructed.

Many moons ago... I'm showing my age now if I haven't before...the bottle of "spray cheese" as you called it (I remember it being called Cheez Whiz) was in a tin tube with a rubber stopper on top and a plastic nozzle stuck in the middle of the stopper that when touched in either direction (as to tilt the nozzle) would cause the cheese to come out in a string. Since the bottle was pressurized, the cheese would actually spew out like a volcano eruption and since the plastic tube held the contents in there until tilted there was no leakage what-so-ever. To ensure that the cheese residue remained fresh and the nozzle not damaged or tilted accidentally, a plastic cap was also on top that needed to be popped before you could tilt the nozzle. For the BEST taste, refrigerate the can. The cheese has a better taste, but with a family of six the Cheez Whiz (which was bought in bulk) seldom made it past the weekend.
