I just completed my 10 pc install. Packing for shipping=AA++++!! A pickup load of "garbage cardboard" = A+! Instruction manual=does NOT exist in cartons. Thank God for KZitem and a few install videos on new age website were helpful. I have not searched all comments below, but I did discover one thing that made it fairly EZ to install overhead cabinets mostly by myself. Turn ONE cabinet on its side! It is the exact 24 inches you need to support the small overhead cabinet you are currently installing. I would suggest a very thin towel or cardboard to prevent scratches in either cabinet...particularly the one you are work off of! This was a TREMENDOUS help to installing 3 of the 4 overhead cabinets! i know this will be a big help to everyone especially the do it yourselfers! Glad I could help!!

Hi, I am about to purchase and found this video which is extremely helpful. I currently do not have electrical on the wall where they will go. Where is the best placement for an outlet or multiple outlets. Also, I have a cement lip at the base of my wall which is about 2 " out from the drywall. I assume that I will have to block that out in the back so I can attach the upper cabinets. Where are the upper cabinet holes so I know where to have the wood?
@travisadventureprojects4578
Жыл бұрын
Thank you I appreciate it! As for outlets your best bet would probably be the open wall above the table top or behind the rolling cabinets as there is some space there. Here is a link to another video I did where I mounted a cabinet with a footing kzitem.info/news/bejne/1KuqmaRqoaahl6A. The problem with mounting the wood before the cabinets arrive is the first one takes a little bit of messing around to get level and until you have that one in place you won't know the level for the wood. Best bet would be to wait until they arrive, set the first one up the figure out where the wood will have to go.

Great video, quick question. My garage has a small bump out on the floor so there is no way to attach them flush to the wall, if I don’t attach them is that going to be a problem?
@travisadventureprojects4578
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! They say you don't need to attach them to the wall, you just may have to place an extra hand on the cabinet as you open a door. I have an additional upright cabinet in my garage that isn't attached to the wall yet and it is by no means unstable. What you could do is measure how much the bump out sticks out, then get a board to attach to the studs of your wall that would stick out just as much or further than the bump out. The cabinets have a fairly wide set of attachment holes in each cabinet. So if you had a wide board and leveled it on your wall attaching to the studs, you would have a secure spot to attach the upright and overhead cabinets to. I don't have the under counter cabinets attached to the wall as the tabletop helps keep them in place. I did see another youtuber who had a similar thing. He removed the back legs and set the back of the cabinets on ledge, attaching them to the wall. The front legs he just extended them and blocked them up with some 2x4.

My studs were coved with plywood and wallboard making a stud finder impossible. I was able to measure from a know stud to mark them. Any of the cabinets that have been secured to the wall do not have any space behind them. The two rolling tool chests and two middle cabinets have space behind them as they aren't secured to the wall. There is plenty of room to run extension chords underneath all the cabinets as they are on feet. The upper wall cabinets there is no room behind, but you could run chords hidden on top of them. @@MikeWhiteman I had a plug in behind one of the rolling cabinets. I ran the cord up the gap that was created by my pegboard pushing the table top out. That little gap had come in handy for power. Without that gap it could be a little tricky. You could set them up, run the power, then tuck the wire down one of the upright cabinets. You would probably have to slide the table top forward to get the power cord by, then just squish the cord in there when you push the table top back. I posted a link in the video description to an in depth video I did on the pegboard I installed. I went into a little more detail about running power for my stereo in that one. I did the same thing for the overhead lights, just on the other end, if you want to check it out.

It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). @@travisadventureprojects4578 Thanks for the reply. I'd love to be able to rest the back on the concrete, but the top of it varies about 1/2' over the span of the cabinets so they will be above the concrete in most areas but will rest on it in some. The idea was to also bolt them into the studs and support the front with the legs and levelers. My challenge is I don't think the supplied leveler feet are long enough and I may need to buy aftermarket levelers and install them in to the feet before I mount the cabinets on the wall. I was hoping to buy the longer levelers and have them on hand when the cabinets arrive but so far, I've had no luck finding out what size bolts fit into the feet.

@@mikehughes8886 Shoot, that sounds like a tricky situation. I had to use some blocking to level up some of my cabinets. If you can, even with the variation with the concrete baseboard it might be benifital to allow some of the cabinet to sit on it where you can. I'm thinking make sure the cabinets go in level but allow the back to sit on the concrete as much as possible maybe using some thin blocking to fill in some of the low spots. Doing that, with longer adjustable front legs and mounting it to the studs you'd have all corners of the cabinets supported and I bet a very stable setup!

I bought mine over a year ago. With covid and the price fluctuations I really can't give you an accurate number. Best bet is to check out the Costco website for your country. You never know they may have a sale!

Awesome video! We are getting ready to install our cabinets and I got a lot of great tips/information from your video. I do have a question: In our garage we have baseboard all the way around so the cabinets are not able to be flush against the wall, which means bolting the cabinets to the wall will be a challenge. We thought of ripping out the baseboard, but that seems a bit extreme. Do you have any suggestions on the best way to bolt the cabinets to wall with the baseboard in the way? Thanks so much!

Thank you! If it were me I would screw a couple boards that are thicker than the baseboard across the walls into the studs. This way you could butt the cabinets up to these boards and used them to screw to. There is quite a large area of bolt holes in the cabinets so it shouldn't take to much messing around to get the boards at the proper height.

How did they rectify the dented cabinets? Getting mine tomorrow.
@travisadventureprojects4578
2 жыл бұрын
They offered to send a replacement and pick up the old one. Since the dent was in the back corner I had already smoothed it out, tac welded it and installed it. So we worked out I would get the extra cabinet but not have to send the first one back for all the trouble it had caused.

Thanks for the video. I was hoping they came preassembled (mostly). My last set did not. I’m planning to mount mine at least 6 inches off the floor and disregard the casters. Makes cleaning underneath easier in my garage.

Awesome! I just put out a video the other day answering that question amount others. The directions all show using the feet for all the cabinets. I believe the wall mounting is more so to hold them in place while having the weight resting on the feet of the cabinets. It may be worth dropping NewAge customer care a line and asking about mounting without feet to make sure the cabinets could take the weight.

@@travisadventureprojects4578 Thanks. I’ll check it out and contact them. I’m they’re not designed to be hung (like others that have a horizontal mounting bracket) but my garage is heated with floor drains so I like to hose it down during the cold MN winters. Makes it easier to have them off the ground. I may see if I can rig something.

@@flixsymmetry Awesome! The base around the feet has extra reinforcement whereas the back is just the sheet metal with holes in it. It would make for a really cool setup if you could have them floating! You will have to let me know what you eneded up doing!

Nice video. If you ask me, you got alot of sound bouncing in your garage, might be time to whip out the drywall texture spray gun or can, and/or put some dampening boards somewhere in there :)

This was tonnes and tonnes fun to watch. It was tonnes and tonnes helpful. Thanks a tonne. I installed mine yesterday, best way is to level the large cabinet and bolt to the wall, install the fixed tool chest in the middle put on the work table and use the table to hold up the wall cabinets with the styrofoam pieces that come in the cupboards, need 22” of styrofoam, is was a breeze to install these by myself that way. The longest part of the job was cutting up all that shipping material to fit in the recycle bin. I completely filled them up already with tools, gonna order more soon, looks like you got nothing to put in them nice cabinets

Great video! You have an awesome set up. I just ordered these cabinets and planning to do a similar set up. I wanted to ask what your countertop height is? (From floor to top of counter) and if you’d be able to attach the tool drawers to the wall as opposed to having them on the floor? Also, do you have any info on the pegboard and where to get it? Thanks!
@travisadventureprojects4578
3 жыл бұрын
I don't don't recall if the tool drawers have an option to be attached to the wall. The counter height is about 3ft. That would change slightly depending on how far out you have the legs adjusted. I picked up the pegboard set at Canadian Tire, it is made by Mastercraft. I've posted a link in the video description to a similar set on Amazon to what we bought. 1 Set covers 2'x4' so 2 sets are needed to fully cover the opening for this setup.
