To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction.....so when a force (unbalanced) acts on a body, the body wants to give it's reaction and to give the reaction it accelerates to make a reaction force using F=ma ..so a body moves because of the unbalanced force

Because the total forces on one of the objects are unbalanced so it can accelerate
