My skin: mature dry/acne prone, trouble with allergic reactions Mad About Skin is my favorite. No lie, not trying for points. Doesn't dry out my skin, no allergic reactions, takes off my makeup ( I cleanse twice with it ) slippy enough for a good facial massage. I highly recommend it.

Rob, thank you SO SO much for supporting and recommending cruelty free brands - agree with what you said 100%! I wish more beauty vloggers would do this! Personally, I find it really hard to find a cleanser I like and am constantly hunting for ‘the one’. I have combo/dry and sensitive skin and a lot of them feel very stripping. I also need fragrance-free. I also really like the feel of jelly cleansers out of all types I’ve tried. Some I’ve liked are the Krave Matcha cleanser and the Bondi Sands Freshn’ Up cleanser 🫶🏼

OMG I am soooooo stoked that you use the G and G cleansing balm - I ADORE it, it is one of the only cleansers that does not sting my eyes (I wear mascara most days so I need to leave a cleanser on there for a bit to dissolve my lashes!!!!) and I then follow-up with a new discovery, for me anyway, the Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water which feels lovely on the skin after use IMHO!!!

I agree with you, I think a good cleanser is imperative in a good skincare routine, otherwise you could be screwing your skin and everything else would be futile! I have really sensitive skin and of the cleansers I've tried, my favourite is LRP Toleriane creamy cleanser (the cream one, which feels like cleansing with moisturizer). Cleansing with that is just unbeatable. Hugs my face. Not the most hardcore cleanser out there, but that's the one I keep using. Not cruelty-free, sadly, since they sell in China as well. Another cleanser I liked is The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser, as a single step cleanser, but I think it lasts only for 6 months (PAO), so mine expired, and I also found it too expensive. I've also tried SVR sensifine baume, but as a 1st cleanser if I've double cleansed. I find double cleansing really annoying and won't do it, otherwise sure, it's a great 1st step cleanser. Apparently they advertise it as a 1 step cleanser, but not sure you can do away with a 2nd cleanser. Someone recommended Transparent Lab (oil cleanser) and I'm trying it too, but I find it so annoying to massage for 1 minute emulsifying with water, etc., so I keep going back to LRP Toleriane, which leaves my skin best, of all the ones I've tried. I would like to try the one you recommended (Harborist), upon checking, I love the composition!! But I'm in the EU and that would get quite expensive (would need to order 2 bottles for free shipping = 62 euro...). I haven't seen any of those websites where you can order more things either. I'm not thrilled that the G&G cleanser isn't hygienic in terms of packaging and they recommend just using your fingers to scoop up the cleanser. Also the ingredients don't seem very appealing to me (I loved the ones by Harborist)

Rob, I love the PSA Reset Cleaner for my morning wash before I jump in the shower. I put it on a massage it in and leave it on while I dilly dally prior to getting in the shower to rinse it off. Yes it is luxurious and I concur with you that sometimes a little luxury is very motivating during the dark miserable months of winter. In the evenings I use drugstore but the key for me is the double cleans using a powder enzymatic cleanser before I start my routine. I love the powder enzymatic cleansers.

Determined to get a little bit of the benefits of snail to my skin I’ve been enjoying the TIAM Snail & Azulene Low pH Cleanser, use as last step in the evening after oil cleanse, does the job nicely. I love the RESET, great for traveling, you can add to dry face if lots of spf or makeup to remove, or use on wet face for a quick wash……. I’m cheap too and will only buy in a BOGOF offer!!!🥰 I still do love my CeraVe SA cleanser every morning, I’ve tried others but they are just not the same! This is my only form of exfoliating (other than tret).❤

Hero's jelly cleanser is the best second cleanser for me. I prefer daily short contact exfoliating, and a cleanser with glycolic acid knocks out 2 steps in 1. I leave it on 5-10 minutes before rinsing and following up with retinaldehyde, no irritation. When i break out i use acne free benzoyl peroxide cleanser. Super cheap, low bp concentration plus glycolic acid. Super gentle and hydrating but it smells like plastic. Still haven't found the best balm or oil for first cleanse. I cant stand micellar water.

I'm using the 0.1 % retinol intense ( which has retinal too ) from some by mi .. and it didn't give me any dryness or purging even though now I have breakouts but Idk if it's because of the retinol.. should I continue retinol if I have acne and Is it working because I didn't really have any side effect at all at first ...
