NEW COMPLETE TUTORIAL OUT NOW: • NFSW: Drift tutorial n...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
I found a way how to drift in the Need for Speed World without hacks.
The new video is in Progress and should be ready in the week from 11.Nov till 18.Nov.
---------------------------------------------------------
short FAQ:
1. Is it possible to drift with «car model»?
I am telling you only about my personal expierience with a few certain cars: Ford Mustang Boss '12 (S760), Ford GT (A650), Dodge Viper (B599), Audi S5 (C450) are the best drifters.
2. Is there any special customization needed for a car to make it drift better?
Blue suspension for a light oversteer.
3. Can you show the "fingering" of how you make the car drift?
I tryed to explain it here in my new video: • NFSW: Drift tutorial n... .
4. Can you explain, what are you exactly doing to make the car drift?
OK!
The drift starts before the actual drift of the car at the monitor. It starts in your head.
In the following I will talk ONLY ABOUT THE LEFT TURN:
1) You need to calculate the perfect distance to the turn from where you will start the next drift actions. Get a feeling for this distance by practicing. If you start to early - your car will hit the wall to your left and not even enter the turn, if you start to late - the car will hit the wall to your right in the turn.
2) Your car is at the action point (dont forget, its a LEFT turn):
stay on the acceleration ↑ and hit →
let the ↑ and press ←
(those two steps shall make your car swing. Swing example on 3:00)
keep pressing ← and hit spacebar for handbrake till the oversteer starts.
You will need some practice to find out how long you need to press spacebar (2nd gear = hit lightly, 3rd gear = press shortly, 4th gear = press hard, faster = press harder). In the video on 2:25 you can see how long i'm pressing ← or → till the drift begins, just watch the front wheels.
So, if you see your car drifting after those steps, controll the drift with the arrow keys as it needed.
3) If the first two steps has't worked, then try to do it on a complicated way:
You need to be completely aware of the car behaviour in the turn depending from the gear in which you are driving. Short explanation: in the NFSW there are turns which you can take ONLY on a certain gear by a certain car.
Exaple 1:
4 lines street, Dodge Viper, 4th gear, 120 MPH, 90° turn into a 4 line street (much space). Viper can do this turn on the 3rd gear.
Example 2:
4 lines street, Dodge Viper, 4th gear, 120 MPH, 90° turn into a 2 line street (little space). Viper can drift in it on the 2nd gear.
If you are aware of the gear you will need for the coming turn, you can do the following:
You don't need to calculate the point of action and you do not need the swing
turn left ←
let the ↑ button. The speed has to fall down during you are turning.
after the speed falls to a "certain point", switch manually to the gear which is needed and accelerate immidiatly (3:38)
The "certain point" is the speed on which your car switches the gears automaticaly. This point is allways on a certain speed. Example:
B599 Dodge Viper: 1st to 2nd gear on 45MPH, to the 3rd on 75MPH, to the 4th on 100MPH and so on.
!!! SO, if you are going on 5th gear (Dodge Viper) with 150MPH and you got a turn which you can take with 110MPH, you will need to let the speed fall down to 110 MPH (4th gear). If you just press ↑ at this point nothing will happen. First you need to switch manually to the THIRD gear to get maximal RPM when you will accelerate.!!!
Once again:
at the action point after you made your car swing press the handbrake harder and keep pressing ← till the car turns on its own swing power.
Since the car is turning on its own power you can accelerate. (THIS WORKS ON ANY CAR. The question is just How beautiful is the drift??)
