There is information on the 1926D quarter in, “Standing Liberty Quarter Varieties & Errors” by Robert H. Knauss on page 192 of the 2nd edition. The die break at 10:00 is classified as a design cud because it involves the bead and bar design.

Wow. That 1888 3c nickle proof is the exact coin I have. Mine is proof 64 without cameo but mine looks like cameo. So excited you have same exact coin I have. Mine doesn't have the surface dots on reverse. But you have ngc graded as cameo. Mine is ngc without cameo. :)

I collect Standing liberty Quarters 🤓 Quarters in general are my favorite denomination to collect I SLQ are my second favorite behind the Seated Quarter series. Anyways yah those late 1920’s Denver mints are super tough with a full head and I’ve yet to buy one

I have been collecting Franklin's for 30 years Would definitely resubmit. Those full bell lines are there. Try PCGS but don't hold your breath.

That 3 cent nickle is really pretty. Thanks for the updates on the 52 S Franklins. I'm glad you got FBL on at least one of them!

Yes I bought a 1928 peace $ in M.S. condition it looked great. When I received it the bill of sale was on a religious pamphlet so I was happy to see that. Looking at the coin it looked great but when I weighed it. it was 25.7 grams I paid 400.00 for it. Huge disappointment. They wouldn't take it back. So I had to eat it. Ouch.

I love Standing Liberty quarters. I have about 100 of them in my collection. But none that look like that... The most I’ve paid for a single coin is about $50.

SLQ are my thing and the 1926-D are known for Die cracks in the liberty area and behind the head and FH ones are really rare because there was so much wrong with the dies in Denver and even in San Francisco (1926-S) has issues on the liberty dress and they called it tear drop because it looked like it was crying out the left side of the dress. 1926-D is in 300 dollar in 63-64 range but FH ones are in 3120.00 for MS60 and a MS64 is 10,600.00. A MS67 with CAC goes for a whopping 150,000.00. they are rare and would have to be in the early part of the minting because the dies where garbage.

To my novice eye the last coin that received the FBL designation did have consistant lines across the bell compared to the others.

NGC uses all bell lines for grading, PCGS only requires bottom lines, FYI. Can't send my 59 Goiter to NGC because they don't recognize it whereas PCGS does

Jeez, there's almost no difference in the bell lines between MS66 Franklin and the MS64 FBL. It could have gone either way on the MS66. On the 1926 SLQ, with a crack like the obverse die had, I can see why it's so hard to find FH examples. It's a nice coin anyway.

On the bright side, there's not too much price spread on F15 vs a higher grade like XF. Hold out for a nicer example.

@@TheCoinGeek Franklin's are one of my favorite and trying to understand the week strike at the bottom of the that is considered missing and therefore no FBL. If you could point to where you think it is missing or sift strike that would help, much like you did with the head on the quarter for FH.
