Mario "One man" Armia is fine, I have no problem if they have to play him next year. There are worse contracts I hope they would get rid of first. If Utah need defense, Montreal has a lot of decent players that could probably be gotten for cheap.

I really wouldn't say that some of The moves made are only to make moves. I think that The Chicago Blackhawks getting a a 2nd Shot Lafferty, etc., is a Great Move for Chicago, likely shows they want to begin to surround Connor Bedard with Decent Players

Leon Draisaitl did not sound or appear at all interested in extending with the Oilers when asked about it. I wonder if it has something to do with taxes heading into the second phase era of his career. I also imagine he wants to be a number one guy. His career supports that. Though I absolutely love what the Oilers pulled off this year, and their fighting to stay in it against all the adversity the league could throw at them. I just don't know their aging players timelines match up with another cup final run. This upcoming season would be their last shot unless this group stays together. If they don't, the Oilers could be headed for a rebuild or retooling if the dominos don't begin to fall. Ken Holland got out at the right time, because whoever has to make this decision is going to get a beat down. Go big or go bust. Nice story, battling and winning the cup next season and winning it all would make the pain of a superstar walking with no return a lot easier. But my god if they don't win it all and he walks for nothing it will be tragic for that club, and possibly create a fire sale. Those are the issues when you have two players of that talent level. The teams that never seem to need rebuilds are loaded with talent up and down the lineup. One guy moves on and no problem, they fill the slot. Connor or Leon leave and the team implodes. In reality, you can only hang onto one of those guys. And the Oilers got very very lucky having two as long as they have. I feel horrible for the next GM before he even starts.

Lmao, boy you’re going to be upset once Leon makes his decision because nothing tells me he does not want to play with 97 going forward and no team outside of the oilers have 25 to 28 mil to spend on both of the at 8 years.

@@barstar888 First off, who are you calling boy you fruitcake. Secondly... just prepare yourself so I can circle back in a year and let you know it is exactly what it looks like. You're going to have to find a way to live with that. It's just life. The party cannot go on forever. Good luck to you! We all go through it, including the Oilers.

I think he gets traded by the next deadline. Oilers have no one acting as GM, or do they? Draisaitl can fetch a king's ransom from the right team.
@ericschultz1554

@@enriqueleon1169 I'm only assuming they do have a backup for the outgoing GM. If they don't do something by next year he's going to be shopped for pennies on the dollar as a loaner, or he could walk for nothing more than good memories. I get they're not ready to talk about this stuff though. They just missed being champions, and they're still grieving. But the season is officially over, and now the draft and trades have the floor.

Leon is a very loyal guy would never leave Connor before not trying another time. It's simple the wrong time asking about contract . 2025 trade deadline is the earliest where it makes sense .If they miss the play-off it would be a different matter

Why in Gods name would Marner accept a trade to Utah lol? He’s looking to win so think of teams like Vegas, Carolina, Florida, Tampa Bay as legit trading partners with quality players the Leafs would take back and are under team control at a bargain cap hit.

If the NHL is serious about having a team in Arizona, why not have the team an NHL owned team, and once they get the team up to where they want it to be, put the team up for sale?
@enriqueleon1169
3 ай бұрын
Now that the former owner took the NHL's $1 billion, he realizes he doesn't want to spend it on hockey. With him out of the way, be sure that the NHL will be interested in new partners with deep pockets and the will to build an arena and stay long term. Bet on it.
