Go Transit old livery MP40PH diesel 617 leader terminating at Aldershot Station platform 4 and then heading back west to Niagara Falls with 617 pushing in back. The reason this train was terminating at Aldershot was due to the line closure between here and Oakville Station due to the Burloak Drive grade separation construction project. VIA Rail trains were detouring via the Weston and Halton Subdivisions meaning passing through North Etobicoke, Northeast Mississauga/Malton area, Brampton, Georgetown, Halton Hills, Milton and Northeastern Burlington. The detoured VIA trains did not stop in any of those places. There are no stations along the Halton Sub between Burlington and Georgetown because that line section is dedicated to CN freights. Georgetown, Brampton Innovation District and Malton Stations along the Kitchener Line corridor are only where VIA trains 84 and 87 stop that run between Toronto and Sarnia. That means, VIA trains that run via the Oakville and Dundas subs would've just deadheaded the stations along the Go Kitchener line corridor along the Weston and Halton Subs. This same service adjustment is to happen again this weekend. People getting off the Niagara express train heading to Toronto were required to get off at Aldershot and proceed to the bus loop on the north side of the station and hop on the rail replacement buses to Oakville and then get back on the local train to Toronto. And that will be required again this weekend. The rail replacement buses did not stop at Appleby or Bronte Stations. The only way to access those stations was to use local transit.
