You know what the definition of insanity is don't you? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. We vote for one party, get sick of them and replace them with the other lot then we get sick of that lot and vote back in the previous lot. That to me is insanity.

Some of us have always, and still do vote the same way, hoping to avoid having any Tory government in situ. Others vote differently, or vote always for the Tories, unfortunately. Thinking Tories will change (for the better) is insanity, to my mind, but then as an 'anti'I would say that.... The fact that 'old people' are considered to be the main demographic which _will_ _always_ vote Tory, is astounding to me! To be crude... Why the 🦆 would they? Even when treated abominably by the Tories, they _still_ vote them back into power!! Why?! In fact... WHY?!! For 🦆's sake... _VOTE_LABOUR_IN_. VOTE The Tories OUT. Please. Let There Be At Least _FIVE_ _FULL_ _YEARS_ (preferably more) _ABSOLUTE_MINIMUM_of_ _NO_F🦆ING_TORIES_🤔🤞🤔🤞🤔 🤞 ...🏴❤️🇬🇧🙂🖖

As much as I love Nick Abbot, he clearly doesn't understand the basic principles of debt and taxation when he keeps saying that Labour won't have any money to fix things.

no i think its you who may not understand things. your nations economy is in a depression, your market is contracting. you cant raise taxes bc youre in a cost of living crisis, a nation can take on lots of debt if their economy is growing, but your not going to be able to get investors to take on the nations debt because its not worth it for the small returns. and if the nation starts tacking on debt during a economic downturn that is how you go into recession or depression.
@Loneman_OG

@@yourfavoritetoy Oh, please. Try educating yourself before typing utter drivel. 1. Our nation is _not_ in a recession (never mind a depression!); we've had positive growth (however small) in the last two months, following three stagnant months, so hardly a recession. 2. Raising taxes doesn't mean it has to be done unilaterally, but targeted at those with the means to pay. Massachusetts voted to implement a 4% tax on all earnings over $1m, which netted them $1.8 billion in the first year. There's no reason why a similar scheme can't be implemented in the UK, especially as the incoming party is supposed to represent Britain's workers, not the rich. 3. Britain is a sovereign country with a sovereign currency, most of our debt is held by the BoE, which is _owned_ by the government. We can print as much money as we like to cover the cost of anything we choose to implement, with the emphasis on _CHOOSE!_ And before you rant about quantitative easing causing inflation, et cetera, if it's balanced with taxation and sensible interest rates any negative effects can be easily mitigated. Labour, just like the Tories, seem to have _chosen_ to continue with austerity, using the tired, old and disproven comparison that a country's economy is much like a household budget when it isn't, it's in no way the same. So when you hear the _"there's no money left"_ excuse, you know you're being lied to!

Am trying to get my photo ID sorted out. Trouble is I am transgender. You won't believe the hoops and hurdles that are in my way. Passport office wants all kind of documents including a letter from a doctor that my change of gender is likely to be permanent. So I either forget about voting or get a passport that says my new name with my original birth sex which I don't want to do. It is almost like they don't want us to vote.

It's almost like you are talking yourself out of a vote, due to your own volition and inferred preferences. If you wish to vote, tick the required boxes (in more ways than one). If you voluntarily choose not to do so, you are choosing not to exercise your own 'agency' (a common phrase amongst the victimhood-wrappers). "... which I don't want to do" is an active conscious choice on your part; meaning own your own decision. Tempting to also refer to anti-scientific and frankly illiberal (compelled speech and conformity, with a side order of intolerance and lack of viewpoint diversity) ideologies involved in the trans debate, but I won't...

@@liberalmatt If I don't get my ID in time I can't vote anyway as my old passport is in my old name and I am registered on the electoral roll in my new name. I don't think you understand the problem here. You can't vote if the name on an ID doesn't match the name on their records at the polling station.
