For some reason, watching a fight in this setting makes you appreciate the skills these guys have. Watching fights in the same old octagon card after card makes you lose sight of the fact that 98% of these dudes are truly bad mothafuck*rs
@TheSmithDorian
9 жыл бұрын
Tyler Todd Exactly right. In the Octagon it's dark, you've got crowds cheering and if you're watching it on TV, commentary. In effect it's like watching a movie so you don't feel a connection with it. This fight seems much more real because it's in a setting that you know and can visualize yourself being in. In UFC and the like, the camera generally focuses on the fighters within an overall shot of the Octagon - you don't really see anything else. The camera shot here is of a gym with 2 guys fighting in it. You have real visible objects and people in the background all the time so you get an idea of how fast they are really moving - as opposed to the Octagon where you see how fast the fighters are moving relative to each other.

I’m never amazed by Nick Diaz. He has always been the hardest working guy in MMA, so I’m usually amazed by the guys that can last any significant time with him. This video is a testament to his skill and anybody that’s followed Nick’s career will tell you the same (the guy’s a work beast!). I just think it’s a shame how Dana White always shorted Nick, and his brother Nate for that matter, on purses because they wouldn’t cater to Dana’s ego. Anyhow, I thoroughly enjoyed this video…thnx for posting it

True ,I would wear wraps in "bare knuckle " fight just for that reason . 4oz gloves do nothing to lower the force of a strike and dif 12 oz gloves make is still small percentages . Nick should come back and fight at 185. I think he needs a bit more power and that's it. it would help him a lot with takedown defence too, I think he would struggle vs elite wrestler's but lets face it, he made Anderson silva run away from him for 5 rounds while the guy was on roids and also who can fight at light heavyweight, a bigger guy already, so I think if he beefed up just a little bit more to give him a little more power, he could be a lot more effective. be good if welterweights actually fought with him though when they step in the cage with him. last man brave enough to stand and fight diaz was bj penn though, I don't blame condit and silva for running away but I should cos they take money to entertain not to run away from the fight.

Why he doesn't fight like that inside the octagon ? Nice leg kicks and his punches seem to be thrown with more power in this fight ..

I agree for the most part. It's interesting to see him instinctively check every leg kick his opponent threw at him, considering the fact that now he and his brother never ever check them no matter what. He seemed to have solid leg kicks in this fight and now he only throws goofy head kicks to annoy his opponents, knowing they'll never land cleanly. However, I think his choice to change his boxing from one or two punch combos at full power to his high volume striking style compliments his cardio and works well for him.

+Lucas Cruz you're an idiot if you never relieved both Diaz brothers fight at lower weight classes than they should. Please tell me what is both of their natural fighting weight? Nate goes from 170 to 130 the same with Nick, so don't speak on something that you're just a fan of.

Lucas Cruz he steps up to his natural weight class and he doesn't impress anyone besides talk shit, now when he aims to drop weight meaning to fight a much smaller opponents his reach is a huge factor. Come on man think before you speak everyone that actually know this sport knows the Diaz brothers fight at a much lower weight class and when they fight at their natural weight they don't impress much.

This is why Nick Diaz is so popular. 2.5 million people are willing to watch a low quality bare knuckle fight from 20 years ago because they want to see him.. crazy
