it sucks how a lot of stuff just goes over ppls head. charlie has been struggling with an eating disorder since s1 before nick. charlie was 14-15 and was outed, bullied, assaulted, and harassed. charlie n nick are both extremely dependent on each other, which isint the best, but it’s bc they’re so young. i hate how charlie is always undermined for all his strength and confidence that the “mental illness” just labels him as the “weaker” one or like nick needs to come in and save the day! like no, charlie is gonna save himself. i just wanna see more ppl really trying to understand the severity of mental health and specifically charlie’s mindset right now. it’s so important. it’s also more than just an eating thing, this haunts his body image, body dysmorphia, he has intrusive thoughts, obsessions and compulsions which he self harms. LIKE ppl are not getting how serious this is…and he’s 15!!!charlie is so brave and courageous and he is such good representation for boys with eating disorders and mental health in general and joe/charlie has honestly moved me to tears with his performances bc i resonated so much with him.

These kids are dealing with so much trauma and loss at such a young age. When I was 16 I alerted my parents that my 19 year old sister was suffering from bulimia and weighed 95 lbs. Sending her to the hospital saved her life. I have been dealing with my own food and body issues my whole life too. This show gets really deep but it's done so well! It's wonderful to share it with you three and it's so great that Zuff is back with you, being his Zuffy self! Also: Bryce looks hella good in blue!

This works better for me if I watch an episode multiple times (pretty much menorizing it) before checking the Reaction. That way, when the Reactors talk on top of the part of the episode they show, I can remember what was actually said in the episode --- since I can't rely on hearing the dialogue when the guys are talking.

When you metioned the insecurities and the codependency you have to remember at 14 Charlie was outed, bullied by the whole school everyday, and had a toxic shitty ex that didn’t care about him so for him to be dating Nick is like a dream come true but also not real to Charlie because he can’t fathom the fact that someone actually likes him and wants to be with him his brain doesn’t let him believe that sometimes all that trauma really messed him up. I do agree though the codependency is not good but for Charlie it helps him. Overall you guy’s reaction is amazing we do want to warn you that it gets heavier and your emotions are gonna be all over the place 😭

The best phrase (for me) it's in this episode... "Love can't cure a mental illness". I really wanted that Olivia Colman say that phrase like in the books, but Hayley Atwell do a really good job anyways.

As usual, Isaac, the intellectual, is very perceptive. He always seems to want to do the right thing, too, like when he schooled Harry in Paris. Tao and Elle are a bit fixated on one another and in their own little world at the moment. The co-dependency observation seems spot-on although I hate to think of Charlie that way. This is clearly a difficult time for both Charlie and Nick.

As a few people have pointed out, Charlie has been struggling with eating and self harm long before he knew Nick, but it was steadily getting worse, it was hinted in S1, then Nick talks to Charlie about it the first time in Paris after he passes out, then in the last episode of s2 he tells Nick more and that he used to self harm as well…

Actually Charlie does not have codependency as much as Nick does with Charlie, because charlie’s reaction to his mental illness reflects on everyone not just specifically to Nick which says a lot. It’s just a coincidence that he’s the closest person to Charlie. But without his mental illness, I can see him functioning really well even without Nick compare to how Nick might have a hard without Charlie.

Watched the first 4 eps and frankly it's so *disappointing* . Weakscripts and the endless weight issue storyline was odd, poorly handled and for a 30 minute show, overdone. I hope it picks up and gets some of the earlier magic back but at this stage it just looks like 20 something actors struggling to play 16 year olds and doing it with weak scripts and storylines😐😪
@lowkeyproductions6681

Someone is clearly not aware of the origin of this story, jeez. Also “weight issue” storyline??? It’s an eating disorder dude, and this kind of story is a big deal for a lot of people.
