It’s absurd that Nico’s the one who “can’t sing,” “can’t sing in tune.” She’s the rare one who COULD sing. And her SOUND is uniquely beautiful. Why did that ridiculousness start?

Warhol was the cause and self proclaimed solution to all the problems in the lives with whom he surrounded himself. The damage done to so-called society can still be felt sharply when elites think sacrificial pizza is avantgarde and voters are peasant to be appeased, then as easily ignored. Nico was an adequate vocalist, but I'm with Zappa regarding the VU. I came. I listened. I left.

John Cale left the velvets years before 1972, and I’m pretty sure Lou did too, that’s when transformer came out

@@danniel766 This is definitely Bataclan, 1972. John Cale invited Lou to join him and Nico in Paris. Lou spent a couple of days rehearsing with John in London and another day rehearsing with Nico in Paris.

In the sixtys her recognize and sultry vocal type was really beautiful and i think she was probably one of most stylish and beautiful photomodels in andy wharol' s "reign"
this was in 1972, not in 75. the place was the Bataclan in Paris. they did not play as a band that day but as a trio of former VU members, accompanying each other's songs, or singing alone.
