I'm French and have a LOOOOTS of respect for Mr Owens! For the beautiful Spirit of Rugby that you represent for sure. But maybe also because I was born in the countryside too and I "feel" in him the "country common sense" that we share when born in the fields & woods, whatever our nationalities and over the borders! PS: When a kid I had a poster of the Welsh National Rugby Team in my bedroom because when young the heroes has no nation! GG - City of Tours - France

Could end up being a can of worms unfortunately. There is still a quality gulf, albeit smaller than it was, so having a man delving in and assessing it may result in some people choosing to take offence - because some people will go out of there way to be. That said, I agree with you, and it would have the benefit of exposing the tournament to a wider audience. The same can be said even for men's club rugby, at least in Wales, it seems to have this big problem of easily getting a whole nation behind their national team for an annual tournament like a newspaper campaign for England in a football World cup but when back at club level there's not enough interest.

Despite it never being good when foul play means a red card I thought the immediate reaction to Fin Russel's card was a great example of the values of respect in the game. He immediaely sought out the French player to apologize on his way to the sideline - and this gesture of respect that was reciprocated.

100% agree. Not just in that game too. It seems that, by enlarged all players understand that those types of red cards are not necessarily dirty but more clumsy and unintentional. The next time it could be the other way round until they all get used to the new laws.

Interesting on feeds at the scrum. It was recently pointed out to me that under Law 19 clause 15(f) 'The scrum-half may align their shoulder on the middle line of the scrum, thereby standing a shoulder-width closer to their side of the scrum.' Also when I read Law 19 I could see nothing about the ball being 'straight', just clauses, 20, 21 & 22 infering the ball must be put in infront of the front row.
