This is similar to 16 people sharing 2 loaves of bread vs 4 people sharing 1 loaf of bread. 16 people has more bread but each can only have 1 slice. while those with one loaf can share a quarter loaf each. Also look at people leaving below poverty line, in Nigeria they actually exceeds the entire South African population. South Africa is richer.

South Africa 🇿🇦 seem to have better in many things however both countries still have room for improvement and huge potential especially South Africa . Nigeria still have a long way to go they have to put a lot of emphasis on infrastructure which is key for their overpopulated country . It’s shocking they only have 56 airports and less than 3000km of rail network . That is shocking for a country rich with oil you would expect better . South Africa’s problem is corruption and lack of maintenance in old infrastructure. Now corruption is something else but if they improve old infrastructure and make it more modern they are in good shape, this is referring to the rail network which isn’t so bad but always strive for best . One thing i would have loved to see was how many public hospitals and clinics each country have also private ones. As a middle class South African i enjoy the best private health care you can think of , our public health care isn’t that bad but improvements can be done. A country should have an abundance of health care than anything , you need youth to be healthy as possible . Internet should be a basic need especially for Nigeria looking at their population which attract a lot of investors especially in the consuming economy they are . Nigeria has huge potential Next time please include the road network of each country and it’s state , the health care system, education system, how many universities , government colleges, and security in each country , also shopping centers . If Nigeria is the richest country (which I believe is Nonsese), have you considered their population size? You don't measure wealth in terms of GDP but in terns of GDP, per capita how much each individual is worth. South Africa has a higher per capita GDP than Nigeria, meaning an average South African enjoys a better quality of life than an average Nigerian. It's the reason you see more Nigerians flocking TO South Africa than the other way round. China has a higher GDP than Britain, but would you say an average Chinese is richer than an average British citizen? Population size and quality of life is everything.

South Africa is way more developed than Nigeria whilst Nigeria has 4 times the population size of South Africa…and the cultures and mindsets are so different that there’s very little in common. Reason why SA has so much illegal immigration, Africans and Asians want to come to SA because it’s developed and livable whilst ppl go to Nigeria to make money off its exploding population and growing middle class. Better comparison with South Africa is Morocco…everything else really is no match for SA…accept it please even in your envy and obsession with our beautiful country. Otherwise compare SA to other developing nations outside of Africa (eg Turkey)and you’ll know where SA really lies in the world and why it’s still in G20 and not Nigeria even though Nigeria UL has larger economy than SA

In the deep Africa, they like praising rich Individuals, boasting about a few nairas or whatever the currency. You're so right about the culture difference. The West Africans are braggart super loud and obsessed with money and being praised(low self-esteem). Some, not all, are foolishly envious and in competition with SA at the expense of their own progress. For example, when you come from a wealthy home with both parents still alive, your life is most likely going to be better than that of a person whose orphaned. Even if both these individuals are qualified Drs' or Educators. That's a just a dummy example. I so wish that our African brothers knew how proud we want to be of them, yet they embarass us in the eyes of Europeans, Asians and other races living here in South Africa. As South Africans, we also would one day visit a clean Zimbabwe for a cup of tea, or go to Uganda for hiking. Not this total chaos of running around the globe like mad men. No African country has yet to match South Africa but we pray everyday that the should be one, trust me. SA is overpopulated by seekers of greener pastures. We need a break urgently.

You're missing one significant factor that overwhelms all those resources. That factor is LEADERSHIP. Which country has a better leadership? Both countries are delinquent in LEADERSHIP and their growth will always be hindered by poor leadership regardless of other resources.

South africa had the biggest economy in africa until 2014, we in 2008 had the 20th bigest economy in the world, but reason for decline in our economy is because of political uncertainty in oir country, oir leaders have become extremely corrupt in recent years. With that being said we are the true giant of africa, the sleeping beast of africa, that needs to be awakened to its former glory because a properous south africa means a prosperous africa as we are the true big brother of african nations

People should ask themselves why is it that so many Africans migrate to South Africa for opportunities and a better standard of living whereas you would never find South Africans do the same? That already tells you what's up. No matter how poor a South African is, they'd never go to another country. Again, Nigeria has poor infrastructure, bad healthcare systems and a poor literacy rate.

What you said is not true and corruption in SA is actually one of the lowest on the continent. This things happen. SA is actually having the largest Economy but most countries in Africa have changed how they traditionally calculated their GDP and started to back their currency against the dollar to which SA hasn't took that road

Lets be fair guys we cannot compare a country with over 200million population over a country with over 60 million population. I think countries should be compared according to their population. Managing a large population is different from managing small population. Therefore let's give Nigeria credit as they are still trying to figure out how to manage their population. I'm South African.
@mzukulwanakangubengcuka2121

They can't manage that big population, it's a curse for them, because an ordinary Nigerian lacks basic services. Almost half their population lives in poverty. They can't collect enough taxes because their economy is largely informal. They are in a mess, only a miracle from God will rescue them from the dungeon.

@@yolisamrso9827 It took them a long time for some of them to understand that they are not the giant of Africa as they claim. It took us South Africans to explain to them that without basic services they are not the giant they claim to be. As a result some Africans thought we were arrogant. You will be surprised how other Africans including Nigerians wants to see South Africa fail. It would be better if Nigerians were more like us, but they are arrogant, proud, loud, their men would do any dirty work to succeed and unlike us, they don't mind their business. Despite what I have said above, I would like to see a thriving Nigeria as they are talented in many admirable ways.
