Shem is a legendary character from the (Jewish) Torah. Nothing to do with any enslaved Fulani, Mende, Yoruba. We understand why our story about our escape from slavery in Egypt would resonate with blacks and are willing to share, up to a point. Trouble is, that black people don't have it in them to be respectful of Jews or of Jewish tradition. For blacks, pissing on the people that you rob, is almost as righteous as the robbery itself. Many Christians and all Muslims are like that.

@deez723 I used to feel the way you do when I was in my early teens. Thank God that I met my husband over 20 years ago and he and his lovely family showed me that not all African Americans blame whites for everything that is wrong under the sky. We are all human and as such we have ALL done horrible things to each other. Unfortunately, we can't all come together if we follow men and women who use religion for their own racist agenda.

Some of us were of Hebrew origins even though we seldom use Hebrew names except when black folk name their kid after some Bible character; and we have ancestors out of Judah...which no longer exists and to which Jerusalem belongs; however, we tend to dwindle away from European names and go straight to the middle East and Persian (Islamic and Arabic) and we often don't even know why. Khadijah, Raisa, Rashae, Onika, Omarosa ... Africans often don't even like us bc they know we are from Holy Land.

They were not Hebrew. To this day, black people don't know where they came from, but they name their kids Jaffar, Jamari, Shereen, Tangie, Jabari, Abdul, Akeem ... black folks thought they were doing African naming systems, but those names are middle Eastern, Persian, far east, Arabic, Aramaic. We are from Northern Africa, the middle east. That's why we love these names: Aisha, Kareem, Daja, Najee, Naim, Jada, Jamilah ... Arabic. Our ancestors were of Islam/Muslim/Egyptian/N African origins.

Predicament? What predicament? I am a conscious person in every aspect. I know who I AM, and that knowledge is not contingent upon how civilized or tolerant the US is. As a matter of fact, living in the belly of the beast(US) has been the best experience ever! I would not have the knowledge, insight and fortitude had it not been for this country. So I am thankful for all of the pain and suffering my people have endured, surely we are an amazingly and remarkably strong people. No Regrets!!!

I suppose it would have been Britain up until maybe the end of the nineteenth century, maybe later, dont know, only got an insight into this from documentary's on TV,but I am sure that the "Landed Aristocracy" would have been very strong on the "Upstairs,Down Stairs"class divide, but obviously not as bad as the huge divide in America between black and white, probably maids in houses would have been treated as sex objects in both cultures.

A lot of people in the Uk of south american, african, indian descent etc dont get to feel like people do in the U.S. We have quite a good integrated society and very strict laws on predjudice.Indeed this goes both ways. By the way we are our owwn slaves now. We work for companies who pay us a fraction of what we make them and the governments take loads of money in taxes, and we call this freedom of choice.

That's a very good question. Why is race an issue? And who's playing the race card? It never fails every time a person of color brings up race, someone brings up the same tired argument that the race card is being played. Would the people who post negative comments please at least point out, what is he saying that is not true? I mean if you can't point out the lie or lies, then you must have a problem with the truth. People say all kinds of things about this man, but I never hear them call him a liar, while pointing out the lies. Point out the lies; other than that it's just childish name calling, which is very easy to dismiss. Point out the LIES.

There are scholars who disagree with your version of what your prophet did and how he felt about Blacks. @younghogz1: It matters not to me when the muslims enslaved my people....all i know is it was extremely brutal and the WHOLE STORYneeds to be told not just in passing but in full detail. If you're committed to truth then speak it all and don't be selective with it. Tell it and then let the chips fall where they may.

I'm inclined to believe that Farrakhan is a Jesuit patsy. The more you understand the working of the insiders the more evident this kind of vitriolic invective becomes. Eph 6:12 NIV - For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

I asked myself that question all the time,,it seems to be a "piracy" for your soul that these people really feed on.

I honestly don't get how anyone could think that any race on this earth deserves anything. Apparently this man and other people have forgotten about the good times. Okay, So your ANCESTORS were slaves, that doesn't mean that yall are owed anything. Last time I checked this generation was never beaten so yall really don't know suffering. This man has as much hate in his heart as the people he talks down upon. Hypocrite. We all need to look in the mirror and see that we all have faults.
