@@221b-l3ttoo much protien is bad for you, which excessive protein is stored as fat (or burned as energy). Carbs are a key macro needed to function properly. Carbs=energy. Low carb diets are unhealthy and are a fad (unless you are under a medical diet). You stated you need meat or you'll pass out, it sounds like you need carbs in your diet. Also 1200cal diets are very unhealthy, which fast weight loss can cause health issues. You should talk to a nutritionist.

Too bad those other sailors promote with nebulous claims of "more energy", "more focus"...more BS I say. It if truly gave more focus, they'd realize they'd been duped and stop using it. Applause to you! (PS I also have a CD28).

Sam, I always tune in for the "what could possibly go wrong" moments, I love the "perceived" haphazard way you sail around the place, in and out of danger, compared to some of the other "planned and risk averse" sailing channels . What I've come to realise, is that you're an extremely accomplished sailor, and this is well highlighted by your night sail, non use of sonar/depth instruments to lessen the chance of Orca chomping down on Pickles...and the ease of your sail measuring and description of where you'll ask for custom reefs, and why. It makes perfect sense, for those that "know their boat" and its limitations. These gems are why I keep coming back... fair winds my virtual friend and enjoy the Med.

Those damn trimmers are so overpriced and pretend like "skin save technology" isn't in every damn razor that costs more than 20 bucks. And of course special creams and ointments because "apply off brand lotion and perfume" is not exactly profitable. So we get fancy tiny little bottles of overpriced goop that could easily be replaced by a 3 dollar 2 L bottle of generic goop. And the damn wallet!! Oh look at my cadh strapped to the outside!! First time I hear someone turning off sonar equipment to avoid disturbing the orcas. I’ve been thinking that could be what they’re protesting against. There should be some sort comprehensive questionnaire including everything boaters were doing when they got attacked by orcas: sailing, motoring, equipment on, fishing… i don’t know, maybe find a common denominator. Could be why they never bugged you!

Glad the Orcas left you alone buy yeah, would have been cool to see them. I was on passage from Panama to Puerto Vallarta Mexico and had a couple of Orcas follow along side for a while. Very cool. Sorry for the broken rudders. Who ever sold that sailboat for $500 must not have needed money. Fair Winds. PS. The caves and lighting in the caves in Gibraltar are absolutely amazing. Gibraltar was quite a surprise to me. A very interesting stop.

Pretty cool seeing that Arleigh Burke class US Navy destroyer out there. Wonder which hull it is. Those things are pretty badass. I don't think I'd wanna go open ocean sailing without having an auxiliary rudder. I'd wanna have some gudgeons on the transom and a rudder assembly I could put together and hang off the stern if needed.

5k's worth of damage in 4 minutes of attacks, that's impressive. 'Argo' looked like a great boat. Orcas are reported to be attacking boats along the French coast now and also one report of a boat attacked crossing the North sea from Shetland to Norway. There are some amazing places to sail to in the Mediterranean. I hope Pickled Herring gets through without aggressive intervention from them. Great video 👍

Sam - I really don't know squat about this but... Some basic research revealed that a marine ultrasonic hull cleaner operates in the range of 20~40KHZ. Also, there is a company that makes a cetacean anti-predation acoustic repellant that emits 40KHZ. Were I you I would certainly research this further but, if I had a pod of killer whales surrounding my moderately sized sailboat I think I might turn that ultrasonic hull cleaner back on. Good luck buddy!

Love your stuff man. I have had a theory for many years that the orca attacks on the sailboats are a direct result of them being hurt by the fast around the world sailboats that come out of France mostly. These boats are high speed and have foils and have likely hit an orca that was sleeping near the surface at night. Thus they are seeking revenge on Dagger boards and finkeels. Maybe you are safer because you have a full keel. In fact there's a distinctly different sound between the two different types of boats and maybe that's why you were ignored. Fairwinds and fair tides.
@neverendingrefit759
Жыл бұрын
extremely unlikely, they are far too fast and clever for that. google "Are the orcas out to get us? What to know about recent attacks." for a well researched washington post piece. Good chance it's just a game they've come up with.
