I love the night sky and the stars. I was looking up at the stars while on our way back home tonight. Truly, this was wonderful. Nice choice of music by the way.

To be honest…… these time lapse videos are quite misleading, because the stars appear much brighter because of the camera exposure time Similar thing with the aurora, it will photograph much better than it actually looks with the naked eye Now, the dark night sky IS nice to look at, no doubt, but again it doesn’t look as good as in these videos

@@1KKVV It might ‘mean’ more to see it in person, that’s true But trust me, you won’t see the Milky Way with your naked eye the same as you will on a time lapse camera It’s much, much fainter The camera ‘cheats’ and brings out the detail through exposure time, amplifying the very dim light

So you shot these videos in the month of August? Well taken.. what time of night did u spot the milky way ? How about cloud cover wasn't that a hindrance ? Since you mentioned 3 weeks of shoot you must have also encountered the moon at some point .. didn't that play a spoil sport for the stars?also where did u find the most impressive night sky ?
@the_g_abides
3 жыл бұрын
I used a moon calendar for my planning beforehand. Thus I was able to do a little bit of planning before I traveled to ladakh. The biggest risk really are clouds...but sometimes it pays off to stay up a bit longer and wait for them to pass :) patience is key. Yes, at some point I had the pleasure to meet the moon :D Then you just have to wait or figure out how make the moon and its light part of your work. I can't really say where I found the night sky to be the most impressive but as long as the moon isn't too bright, there's not too much light pollution it doesn't really matter too much where one is located. Well depending on which side of the hemisphere you're living on and at which time of the year you're star gazing does play a vital role though.

@@deepali773 theoretically it is possible to capture the night sky with your mobile phone (I've done it and my phones camera isn't even that good) I can't tell you which phone exactly to use since I don't know shit about mobile phones but your camera should have the option to go into some kind of manual mode where you basically set the same settings you would if you were to use a normal dslr/dslm...long exposure time, high iso, open aperture... however, don't expect too much. quality wise it obviously won't be comparable to the results you would get with a real camera.
